Grissom and Archie are on the track of Gordon's possible accomplice, that's this season's underlying thread.

Warrick blindsides Catherine when it's noticed that he's wearing a wedding ring, and he is indeed married. Warrick notices how Catherine has treated this development in an aloof manner, and Catherine comes clean with her flirtatious attraction to him (she called it a fantasy of sorts) has come to a close with his marriage.

Nick still gets the heebie-jeebies with bugs as a side-effect of his traumatic experience in last season's finale.

Sarah calls Eric a cannibal after getting some human liquified remains explode in his face. Ick.

That, and the all-new opening title sequence.

Did anyone else notice in the scene where the CSI guys were wondering if the wife ran over the husband with her car, the husband was smoking a pack of "Morley" cigarettes?! Where's Fox Mulder when you need him?!

Crap. Nearly on a weekly basis, my OTA HD has one random channel that decides it doesn't receive a signal (last week it was Fox). So about 15 after the hour I find this out and switch the TiVo recording over to the CBS NY feed I get.

In addition to the new opening sequence, what else did I miss? I know Warrick is now married, but how exactly was that played out?

He got married at Circus Circus! Apparantly after what happened to Nick last season, he realized "life is short" and decided to take the plunge.

I thought it was a pretty weak opener after such a strong finish last season.

Wow, same here. This episode was dry toast throughout. None of the stories sucked me in or grabbed me in any way. Grissom looked to me like he was barely going through the motions and had decided to phone this one in.

Not a strong start at all.

And what's with that hat? Did Grissom steal it from some migrant fruit picker?

Why the hell wasn't Greg wearing a mask when he reaching in that trunk?

Was that bug really on Nick or was it imagined?

Liked the lab tech's comment about Gil having a thing for blue paint.

Don't get the blue paint bit. Unless it was in reference to AD? OMG even CSI is getting too smart. Episode was just Meh. I don't like the one CSI who is now a CSI detective. She just needs to go.

The blue paint is a reference to a case involving a serial killer that Gil caught, that years later the same MO (blue paint underneath hand rails to lure the victims to wash it off where he was waiting) was involved in new murders.

I remember that blue paint reference now. Seems like that should be made "in-season" instead of the 4 month gap it's been. I don't have that kind of memory.

Interesting episode, although not a solid start. I do like how they are carrying over Nick's thing into this season. CSI has always done well w/ those types of episodes.

Best line of the episode.

All in all and alright episode, but nothing terribly great for a season premiere.

Oops, I did something dumb-- I accidentally deleted this off the Tivo unwatched. I meant to delete the repeat "suggestion" CSI and it was in the same folder.

I have never done that before. I should just turn off the stupid suggestions feature.

I thought it was ok.

The Warrick marriage and Grissom hunting down the person on the tape should give them some arcs for the season.

I think Warrick's marriage is an arc waiting to fail. The story lines with people outside of the cast usually end up bombing. There isn't enough show to use some of it on someone of unimportance (real word?).
