Found it while looking for manga; provides evidence to quasi-rumors that have been surfacing from Japan.

It's not a "second season" if by that you mean a sequel to the first series. Since the manga was still running while the first series was being made, they had to take liberties with the second half of the series and the ending. What this new OAV is, is a retelling of the series from the beginning, but closer to the manga. It will seemingly run for a long time, and the release schedule is spread out enough to allow the manga to chug along without affecting production.

Also, Gonzo isn't doing the animation this time.

Now where's my second season of Berserk???
