Favorite sitcom on network tv by far. As a four time "Telee" award winner I can't wait for this episode.

I hope the My Name is Earl lead-in and Steve Carrell's 40-Year Old Virgin popularity help this show get bigger numbers than last season.

From what I've heard, it's a full 22 episode order.

It better because I think they are set to slip Scrubs into a slot if either of the two shows produce bad numbers.

I heard about the UK version (nothing about it, just that it existed), and didn't even know an American version existed until last week. Saw some positive reviews for the show, and that it starred Steve Carell, so I blind bought the first season over the weekend. I fell in love with the show, and am really looking forward to seeing the start of the second season tonight.

Does anyone know if they are going to replay this show on other networks like they did last year?

I don't know I just can't get into this show. I really wanted to like it, but something just makes it so unenjoyable. I like Carrell, but I think the rest of the cast is terrible. None of them are believeable or likeable, which is really sad because the show can work, the original proved it.

i think that is what it makes it so funny... they are like real co-workers

I don't think they can put Earl and Scrubs together -- two voiceover shows in a row sounds like a very bad idea if you ask me.

Couldn't disagree more. The ones in the original felt like real people, for the most part these feel like actors not doing a good job.

NBC really went out of their way to let everyone know that Steve Carell was The 40 Year Old Virgin in its promotion of this season. I guarantee you that movie will at least get this show a full season and not a mid-way cancellation. I have never worked in an office environment like this one, and if this is realistic, I hope I never do.
The problem with this show is that it is pretty obvious Carrell is carrying it, and really the only one who brings the funny. Is there really anybody as pathetic as Carrell's character out there?

Wow, that was the best episode yet. They tossed a little more drama into the show and it really helped balance out all the jokes. All the office workers seem more like real people now.

Why not? It makes sense. If you want to talk about were this one succeeds and fails, it is only natural to go back to the original. I find that this one often fails where the original succeeds. Therefore it shows the concept isn't bad just the execution.

Saw 2 mins of the original and didn;t enjoy it.. to me they are 2 different shows.. when i think of the character Michael, I think of Steve Carrell.. I don't do a comparison between Ricky Gervais.... If you are used to the BBC version, I think that is what you will prefer... You have it in your mind that Michael is played by Ricky... Any change and you will compare it to Ricky.

That was the first ep I've seen of The Office (US or British)

Is the show always that funny? I'm hooked.

I am glad they are taking the show in to new territory, and not going into rehashes of season two of the British version. This series has got life in it, and I hope it sticks around for a while. Funny, funny stuff tonight. I missed a few episodes last season, but this is on my must watch list now.
