That "suit up" line HAS to go. I also don't see the big deal about Alyson Hannigan. Nothing hot about her at all IMO. I think the show has potential, but the pilot was just kind of blah.

I liked it overall. Here's hoping that they don't write Alyson into her AP Michelle character. Her interaction with Neil made for some great stuff. Her fiance tho is a bit blah... as it Ted. I'll tune in next week. Good lead in to RAW

I liked it. I thought it was funny. My favorite line has to be :"This is totally going on my blog!" I lost it after that. This may be the 2nd CBS show I watch--after NCIS. Would've been 3rd if they hadn't fucking cancelled Joan.
So wait, the Robin chick was just a guest then? That would suck because she's incredibly beautiful.

it seems some people liked the show and others hated it. I'm in the side of the people that liked the show. Really liked it. I was laughing most of the show. I didn't see any sitcom last season, so maybe this year I'll be back.

What really annoyed me was that Bob Saget's voice sounded nothing like the guy who played Ted. The narrator who is a future version of a different character works on a show like The Wonder Years or Everybody Hates Chris because people sound different between middle puberty and adulthood. They don't sound different from mid/late-20s to early-50s.
I actually thought maybe the premise was that we weren't sure which guy was the guy doing the narration, but it seems that it is set that it is Ted. At least then there would be a reason the voice is different -- they'd want to obscure who the guy was.
Going into the show, I thought for some reason the premise was AH and NPH meeting, courting, and getting married.
I'm disappointed (particularly when I compare it to the better than expected Kitchen Confidential), but I'll give it a few more episodes.

I thought this show was pretty funny. Definitely a few laugh out loud moments for me. NPH had some of the best lines, I think. Will keep the season pass.

"Meh" indeed. NPH's character was pretty humourous. Other than that, this was full of the typical sitcom schtick I despise. The lead character I found to be utterly tedious. I enjoyed KC much more.

Doogie Howser and the girl from American Pie were hilarious in this. I don't really like the rest of the cast and they need to drop the horrible Bob Saget voice over. And, as someone already mentioned, someone else doing the voice over makes no sense -- no sense! The dude is way past puberty.

Decent show.. I'll continue to watch.
For me, the line that got me to laugh most.
"Ted's gonna do it with a news reporter. This just in!"
Or something close to that.

I totally agree with all of the above. Neil Patrick Harris was awesome. The lead is pretty irritating. If I guy was coming on to me by being that sappy I'd definitely be put off. I thought it was very funny though & I laughed a lot. The whole dynamic of the friendships is fun.

They're rerunning the episode as I type this. As such, I thought I'd bring back the thread for those just now viewing the episode for the first time.
