The advance release of this only contained the first hour, so it's safe to assume they're combining the first and second episodes for tonight's premiere. I really liked what I've seen thus far, so I'll definitely be tuning in.

Dont have one but thats not what I'm talking about. I mean that shows on Fridays generally dont last that long. Its where good shows are sent to die.

the story is not terrible, but the dialogue and delivery of the lines is pretty weak.

WE HAVE TO STARE INTO THE FACE OF THE UNKNOWN AND MAKE DAMN SURE WE DON'T BLINK!!!!

duh.

The Klingon line drew a groan from me.

But, please more Molly dreaming scenes!

I'm still watching it, and that says a lot. I've never watched a lot of sci-fi television. Is that because of Carla? Maybe, but I like it none-the-less. It's better than almost all of the shit I have watched on Fox this week.

Alright, I'm digging the show - but judging from next week's preview it seems like they are going in a format similar to The 4400.

Flat, boring characters. Stilted dialogue and no chemistry. I'd rather have just watched 2 hours of the dog.

That's exactly what I thought too.

Yeah, not as crazy with "The 4400" angle that seems to be used to propel the show in terms of dealing with the extraterrestrial incident at sea.

At worst, Fridays will be only "Numbers" if "Threshold" starts to run in place after a while. Plus seeing "Braga Production" at the end kind of horrified me too.

God bless Lost. This season is shaping up to be pretty damn good because of all these sci-fi/horror spin-offs that are airing strictly because of Lost's success. Supernatural was pretty good, and now this.

For something with Braga's name attached, this has the potential to be extremely good. I'm just not sure how it's going to work out to be a television series with 22 episodes over multiple seasons. This would kick ass as a mini-series where they strictly go after the other four, but it looks like next week it's going to be more like First Wave, where you have freak alien experiment/encounter of the week. These two hours were extremely good sci-fi tv, but you can't have them hunting the four week after week. It's going to have to turn into a First Wave type of show, which is fine, but that means this main storyline is going to get dragged out over a ridiculous amount of time.

Then there's always the problem that shows with premises like this never end well. It'll either not last and we'll be left absolutely clueless as to what the "final answer" is or it'll turn into a clusterfuck a la X-Files. Like I said, this would have been a spectacular mini-series, but as a regular series... Something with this narrow of a focus in the pilot rarely makes for a good 22-episode season show. That said, the first two hours were quite well done, so maybe this'll buck the trend.
