The 1st part of the episode wasn't much, but it started getting better, and once the "classic" Galactica theme kicked in, it got really good!
And what a great ending with...

why is everyone spoilerizing the ending of a show that already aired? I thought the point if a spoiler for information that has not been aired yet?
anyway, I thought the episode was okay. it was a departure from the typical BSG episode so I applaud the risk.
I agree aktick in that the baby did not seem like it should be due. it must be very premature if it were born already.
I can't believe Adama fell for the old switcheroo trick for the video tape! I thought he was smarter than that.

Cause many people TiVo the show and don't watch it right away, I would be sick if Someone didn't spoilerize the main plot point of the show, Adama dropping his towel!! OMG!

Yeah, I didn't realize how much the original theme would add to the show until I heard it. Kind of like when they used the original Superman theme on Smallville a couple seasons ago.
And damn, what a great ending!

Worst episode so far IMO. They basically say flat out that she's a cyclon when #6 makes Baltar talk to her; cut that 30 seconds out and the ending would have had some weight. They can't keep the Boomer clone secret but they manage to keep the fact that they're headed to Earth is on the down low? I imagine the media would want to know what happened on Kobal when their equivalent of the Pope was blown to bits.
2 questions: have we seen anyone smoking on a cigarette on the show before? When were they playing the original theme?

I don't think we've ever seen anyone smoke a cigarette before. The original theme was playing during the end of the video. It was very subtle and then kicked into full gear when you see the shot of the pilots walking down the hallway. I definitely thought it was a very nice touch.
This was the weakest episode of the season and maybe of the entire show. So far, my least favorite episodes have been "Litmus" from S1, which was too similar to Star Trek: TNG's "The Drumhead" and this one, which reminded me of the Babylon 5 episodes that were patterned after news broadcasts. Keep it as fresh as possible and I'll continue to love it. Blatantly retread concepts from other shows, and my enthusiam lessens (which is funny since this whole series is basically a retread, heh heh).
I guess Ron Moore wasn't joking that there'd be a few episodes that were more stand-alone in nature. It almost felt like a reset button episode since there wasn't any mention at all about finding a map to Earth. They did bring some continuity in with the riot on that ship, but that whole incident fell flat and never generated much of a reaction from me in the first place.
At least next week's preview looks like they're getting back to business. Now I have to wonder if the Cylon virus is a legitimate threat, or just a way for Caprica Boomer to ingratiate herself with the crew?
