Inside 9/11

Anyone else watch this?

Absolutely fascinating and VERY well done by NG. I was very impressed and found myself glued to the TV. Can't wait till tomorrow night.

Rogue588 08-21-05 11:29 PM

I watched it.

And everytime they showed that bastard smirking, I wanted to reach into the TV and rip his fucking insides out.

I don't know if i'm ready for tomorrow yet.

crapkilla 08-22-05 07:52 AM

I'll be buying this on DVD for sure (i'm hoping they release it). Great teachign tool for when my kids are older and they want to know the history behind 9/11.

Rogue588, i agree with you 100%.

nevermind 08-22-05 08:21 AM

I set it up on Tivo but haven't watched yet. I plan on transferring it to DVD-R, since it looked like it would be really good. Glad to hear of early positive reviews.

Y2K Falcon 08-22-05 08:46 AM

I heard that it was "first half on 8/21, second half on 8/22", but for those that missed it, they are showing them back to back tonight, twice, starting at 7 Eastern. They seem to be repeating them again on 8/30 at like 2am. So I didn't miss out on part 1 yet, if I can remember tonight.

Check your local listings. ;)

I watched the 1st hour of the 1st episode last night and thought this show is excellent. Starts out with the roots of Al Queda and OBL all the way back to the war in Afghanistan in the early 80s. Leads up to the WTC bombing of '93 and then the very early stages of planning for 9/11. This is about where I stopped watching as I was too tired.

I thought it was well organized and has a nice pace to it as there are very few commercials. Probably 1:40 of showtime in a 2-hour slot. Can't wait for part 2 as well.

Man, part 2 has been tough to watch so far. To hear those phone conversations from the flight attendants and hearing Atta's voice and all that really hits you kind of hard

i agree. This was very well done. I got this on Tivo, Sad that we missed so many chances to get Bin Laden.

Rogue588 08-22-05 11:22 PM

This was very hard to watch. Very hard.

PeMo 08-23-05 08:34 AM

Watched Part 2 last night.... WOW. Easily the best documentary I've seen on 9/11. Part 2 was really tough to watch. I will definitely add the DVD to my collection.

ylomnstr 08-23-05 08:40 AM

Toughest part for me was watching the people jump. What a horrible sight. But definately a good documentary.

Goldblum 08-23-05 08:46 AM

The best documentary of the tragedy by far. It really captured the horror and heroism of that day. I also felt the limited commercial breaks helped keep a solemn reverence throughout.

Anyone know how quickly National Geographic releases DVDs of their television specials? I don't get this channel but still would like to view the doc.

The link PeMo provided above says Sep 16th for $29.95.

Bandoman 08-23-05 10:38 AM

Are there just the two parts, or are there more? I Tivod both last night, but haven't watched it yet. I want to make sure I get it all.

nevermind 08-23-05 10:42 AM

There's only two parts.

Bandoman 08-23-05 11:13 AM

Thanks.

dadaluholla 08-23-05 12:25 PM

Yeah I caught some of last night's show and it was pretty solid stuff. I would definitely consider picking up the dvd.

I wonder if the dvd would contain any additional footage, etc....

There was a phone # immediately following Ep 2 to call if you wanted to buy the video. Assuming that means DVD or VHS, but it might very well be that all you can even do through that # is pre-order.

I thought this was easily the best docu since the one the French brothers released. Very hard to watch (especially when I think about the fact that I was flying around from 8/20 - 9/7; and flew my wife and 1 year-old down to Florida on 8-31 and back on 9/3), but I don't know if a 9/11 documentary could be done much better than this.

Didn't see his link. Thanks. :)

Joeboo835 08-23-05 05:22 PM

Kinda spendy, but worth it in my opinion

atlantamoi 08-23-05 06:36 PM

Just finished watching both episodes. Didn't realize that I'd actually learn new things about 9-11 (like first hand perspectives). Sad stuff, but it's good to be reminded strongly about what we are up against.

Cusm 08-24-05 08:33 AM

I missed this, but FYI ENCORE FRIDAY 7-11PM EST.

Chew 08-24-05 01:30 PM
