What shows are you still pissed off about being not renewed/cancelled?

Flipping through the channels tonight, there was a rerun of Boston Public. That got me thinking at how mad I was when they basically cancelled the show.

What are some other shows that got cancelled that pissed you off?

For me:

Boston Public (we never even got a satisfactory series finale out of it)
The Agency (started and ended in the death slot for shows, Saturday night)
Touching Evil (was a good kind of quirky)
Star Trek: Enterprise (show really started to hit it's stride the last season)
Spin City (Even with Sheen, the show still was good)
The Job (although, had this not been cancelled, we wouldn't have Rescue Me)
C-16 (another show that was in the death slot on ABC)
Greg the Bunny (the DVDs made me appreciate how funny this show was, again)
Boomtown (great premise, until they started to fudge w/ the formula)

Tru Calling: Why produce 6 episodes and shut down production?
The Inside: Had a promising premise, maybe would have survived during regular season.

FOX had no faith in these shows.

Freaks and Geeks. I was crushed when this show was cancelled.

Dead Like Me. Very disappointed. The second season especially showed such promise.

Carnivale. Can't say pissed because I didn't get to start watching it until after it had been cancelled, but now that I've seen the first season, I'm disappointed that the series was cut too soon.

Wonderfalls. This show could have been special given time.

Firefly. And Lone Gunmen. Both had the potential to be the powerhouse Sunday night staple to replace X Files and either one of them had what it took to land in X Files spot and be successful, but they got put on a crap time on Friday nights and now we get two reruns of Simpsons and a crap ass make believe reality show (I know, it's been cancelled, but they what do they fill the slot with? A RE RUN OF THE SIMPSONS!!!). I recall hearing Joss Wheadon was creating a sci fi series for Fox to put in X Files place, so I know they were considering it for Sunday at one point, and Lone Gunmen would have been a no brainer on Sunday night. I know both shows could not have gotten the slot, but it would have been better to have one or the other over what they have now.

And Wonderfalls. I know season two would have rocked, as I heard the plans the creators had for season two, but again, as with Firefly, it got treated like crap on Friday nights and it's make it or break it night was on a Thrusday up against powerhouse season premiers on other networks. It's like Fox wanted this to fail.

Boomtown
Philly
Son of the Beach
Tru Calling

Fastlane
The Agency

The key for me is that I can understand why some shows I love are cancelled: very poor ratings when given a real chance. For example, I loved the show American Dreams and will really miss it, yet I completely understand why NBC cancelled it (and I give them credit for giving it 3 years).

Sports Night- they had set themselves up for a great third season. new directions with the network and i think that dan and rebecca would've gotten back together and that would have meant more teri polo.

Ed- true the 4th season wasn't the best but it was still tons better than most of the reality crap that replaced it.

EZ Streets (Yes, all these years later, I am still upset.)
Touching Evil (US) (It was absolutely fascinating -- hope it makes DVD.)
The Job (although you're right about "Rescue Me")
Joan of Arcadia (Just end the season on a wildly different and intriguing note, then cancel it!)
Haunted (I would almost give up "Lost" if I could have this Matthew Fox show back.)

1. Police Squad! - Imagine how much great TV the Zucker brothers could of turned out instead of going on to make mediocre movies.
2. MSCL
3. Relativity - Both better than Once and Again and both had less than a 1/3 the number of episodes that O&A had.

And since I just watched Entourage w/ the great Jeremy Piven - I thought of his completely under-rated show Cupid. What a great show.

Lots of good suggestions already posted. Just thought I'd add Lucky from FX to the list. It only lasted one season, but I really liked the show a lot. John Corbet was great and the two sidekick guys were hilarious.

With all the interest in Poker that's happened recently, I'm surprised this show didn't last longer.

I think a certain DVDTalker had a hand in that show.

Man, Lucky was another one. Damn, I get madder by the day reading my own thread.

Easily one of the most underrated and one of the most hilarious American sitcoms ever.

wow.

when I read the thread title, NYPD Blue & Third Watch immediately came to mind. however, you guys have reminded me about a LOT of others.

the three that have pissed me off would be Farscape, Keen Eddie & Ed. I made this proclamation after watching the second episode of Keen Eddie. Didn't work, dammit.

I can't talk about Farscape.

And I would have to say that Ed is one of my favorite shows of all-time. Catching the entire four season run on TBS made me even MORE pissed [I only started watching NBC towards the end of s3 ]. This pissed me off too:

TV Q&A with Rob Owen

Friday, June 24, 2005
By Rob Owen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

This week`s TV Q&A responds to questions about Ed on DVD, "The Days" and changes at CNN.

As always, thanks for reading, and keep those questions coming.
Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV editor

Q: I loved the show Ed more than almost any other program on television. It`s been off the air for more than a year now (although it has reappeared in syndication on TBS), so is there any word about it being released on DVD? If not, do you know what`s causing the hold-up?

-- Susie Cribbs, Pittsburgh

Here`s what one of the Ed creators, Squirrel Hill native Jon Beckerman, had to say: "Hard to believe, but there are no current plans for an `Ed` DVD set. I was recently told that all the music we used would be prohibitively difficult and expensive to clear for DVD. I still hope it will happen at some point, but I have nothing to do with the decision. It`s entirely up to the folks at Paramount and NBC-Universal."

Other than these three [and the aforementioned NYPD Blue & Third Watch], i'm missing Boston Public, Touching Evil, Tru Calling and Joan Of Arcadia.

I'm sure there are more, but thinking about the first five have pissed me off too much...
