Who played Sloan? She looked really familiar and I can't figure out where I've seen her before.

If you're an OC fan, you'll recognize her as Olivia Wilde's girlfriend.

Though this episode was better than the last 2, they have been very weak lately. The last really good one was at Sundance. It seems like they're just going through the motions lately, but I did like the arguing between Vince and E on this one. Ari is still not getting enough screen time.

Patman 08-08-05 05:56 PM

Ari would sell his mother's soul to keep a A-1 client.

I still can't believe James Cameron is on this show in this capacity. Amazing.

Hope Sloane sticks around, she's truly a hottie.

I even liked the snarky server girl who gave Turtle and Drama all sorts of attitude.

kenage 08-08-05 08:08 PM

The server girl was hot. The story with Vince and Mandy is not.

Dr_Evil 08-08-05 08:19 PM

I don't get all the love for Drama this season. People keep talking about how funny he is, but I don't think he is standing out above anyone else. This episode was ok, but they really didn't advance the plot a lot.

Bill Needle 08-08-05 08:21 PM

Include me with the "already complete and utterly bored with the Vince/Mandy subplot" group.

Dr. DVD 08-08-05 08:22 PM

While Mandy is cute, I too hope they end her storyline soon. She is getting close to having the same amount of appearances as Debi Mazar, who gets billing in the credits. Furthermore, I I love Vince as a player, and having him suddenly develop feelings for someone kills a lot of his appeal.

No, he isn't. And it sucks because Piven is so spot on w/ every damn line.

Sloan.

And any show that gets Malcolm McDowell to take part in the fun.

If it was not for Ari and Drama I would not watch this series after one episode.

In this episode they:

1. Tipped Cameron off there is a potential problem between the two leads of his new movie.
2. Set Eric up with a new love interest --- a love interest who is the daughter of the owner of the agency that represents Vince.
3. Put Ari into major conflict with the owner of the agency in which he is a partner.
4. Got Vince back together with Mandy Moore; and if that goes badly, "Aquaman" could have a serious problem.

What else do you want out of 25 minutes?

All but number 2 happened in about 5 minutes. There was a lot of wasted time.

Patman 08-08-05 11:38 PM

Entourage isn't a plot-driven show, it's a character-driven show, and their interaction to the somewhat absurd situations that exist in Hollywood. Kevin Dillon is bang on with Johnny Drama, he just nails the pathos of that character and never fails to bring the funny by his reaction to stuff that goes on in each episode.

Dr_Evil 08-08-05 11:42 PM

I agree about it being a character-driven show. Perhaps I'm alone in not finding Drama that funny; maybethat's why I didn't enjoy this episode as much as others.

MrX 08-09-05 01:50 AM

The scene with Drama and Turtle with the kids at the pool was pretty funny as was was Ari throughout the episode.

I agree that I hope this Vince and Mandy thing dosn't last long.

Dr. DVD 08-09-05 07:28 PM

Vince and Mandy does not really seem to serve any real purpose than have an extended stint for a celebrity guest star. Of course there were reports of on set problems and budget with another water movie directed by Cameron called Titanic, so you never know where this is leading. I have a feeling we won't get to see much actual production on Aquaman and next season will start with Vince doing press rounds for it.
While I doubt it will happen, I would LOVE to see a James Cameron directed trailer for Aquaman along the lines of the commercial Vince did earlier this season.

B.A. 08-09-05 07:36 PM

The season will probably end w/ Vince going to make Aquaman just like last season ended w/ him going to make the indie-Godfather - Queen's Blvd.

You raise the the problem I have with the show: It has a perpetually rushed feel to it. Too much plot is forced into what many times is barely over 20 minutes of show (not including the recap and intro). In the rush to make sure the plot keeps advancing and ever-changing, a lot of potential character driven comedy gold is left on the floor. So while I like the show quite a bit, the pacing has always bothered me.

Roto 08-10-05 11:25 AM

How about all you people that want an hour long show record it and only watch every two weeks? :p It's not going to change, yet the whining dominates the thread every single week.

keps 08-12-05 11:16 AM

I thought this was a pretty funny episode, wasn't my favorite of the season, but at the same time I didn't think it was bad either. I agree that Drama, Turtle, and Ari were hilarious and stole the show. I think Drama is the funniest character actually, he seems to always have great lines
