IFC Zombie Night - Thursday June 23

FYI for zombie fans:
IFC is showing Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead & Dead Alive along with the documentary Dream of the Dead. Doesn't IFC show their films uncensored? I wonder what version of Dawn they plan on showing (probably the theatrical).

I think IFC censors. I remember seeing a movie with Selma Blair getting nailed by a big black guy and the whole seen was blocked out.

But who knows, maybe violence is less scary to them than sex......

IFC doesn't edit. I watch them all the time. For example, they had the uncut version of Requiem For a Dream.

He's talking about Storytelling by the great Todd Solondz. The censoring in that film was done by the director, more or less: When the MPAA told him to cut the sex scene, Solondz reacted by placing a big red X over the screen during the "offensive" bits. This became the official version of the film, and it's this way on the DVD as well. IFC shows the film just as the director released it.

Actually the DVD includes both the MPAA approved version and the director's uncut version (which removes the big red block).
