I enjoyed it, but it was missing the spark and fun which elevates the show above the norm.

That spark for me is the opening. This is by far the best opening for a show.

OUCH! Be careful where you talk about "FF"... her scenes didn't hurt THAT much... oh wait, you meant fast forward, not fist f***!

Great episode. My favorite scene was with Joanna Cassidy and Brenda. That character is so well written. She manages to bump herself up, while both slamming and condoling her daughter about the miscarriage. Just f-ing brilliant!

Sucks about the slow countdown to the end, but I still have to agree with Claire's line from last season something like "I'm so tired of being depressed!" I feel like we're being led to some decent self-realization by each of these characters that may lead them to more well-adjusted normal lives instead of the depressing swamp they've each been sinking into since we first met them.

Wow, Jenna Fisher looked hot! They really make her bland is 'The Office', while here, she was smoking.

Will she be changing her name to Jenna Fisher-Diaz?

Maybe I wasn't in the right mood, but I thought the premiere was okay, just a little too full of pain and self-loathing for me.

Lauren Ambrose has finally lost her baby fat. Not sure the loss looks good on her, though.

I liked it, but I tend to agree with the people who were a little lukewarm. This is my favorite show on tv and has been since season 1. But I thought it started to go a little downhill last season and this premier just felt like it was coasting a bit. It's getting to be a pretty busy show. They just feel like less and less of the family that I loved in seasons 1 and 2. But that's family life right?

It's still the best thing going.....

I wasn't planning on watching SFU this season since it really nosedived last year, but it was on in the background when my wife was watching it, and it actually got my interest.

My main problem with the show is that there is not one character on it that I like.
