"They say he rode upon a steed perchance to spot a lady."

The Bill Brasky sketches were incredible. Unfortunately, they only made about 4 of them.

Are you sure about that? I recall seeing them quite often, with different guest hosts.

EDIT: Guess there weren't as many as I thought. I just looked up SNL's archives, and there were five.

Some of my favorite quotes from the show:

"The Prince of Wales is generous to a fault. He has been known to give until it hurts. However, I've also heard, that if you were to arrive at the Prince's back door with a sizeable package, you would be received warmly."

"I think it's a sad day when a man can't get elected because he shot Lassie, shouted obscentities at a newborn, defiled the flag, and yes, wiped his ass with a baby." Poor Henry Buckwell...I almost felt sorry for him at the end.

"I masturbate to the Teletubbies!"

"The character of Johnny Appleseed was based on Brasky - except for the apple tree planting and not raping men."

They need Baldwin back next season. Hopefully they'll have some new writers to help bring back the laughs. They were few and far between this season.

Those Brasky bits are some of my favorite sketches, I was happy one of them got in.

Although, just like all the other 'Best Of's... there's some skits they didn't need and a lot they didn't have.

Yep.
Good Lord. What is it about "The Best of Alec Baldwin" that brings out the gay comedy? At least 2/3 of the show was gay-related material. Granted, a lot of it was pretty good, but my gosh, this was Johnny Knoxville all over again.

Baldwin is so good, even a bad sketch like the Tony Bennett one was funny because of him. He completely outshined his costars.

I'm still laughing at the lyrics to that song - "I love things that are great..."

Really glad to see the "Zinger vs. Burns" skit (still the best of the "Zinger" series).

Disappointed that "The Mimic" skit wasn't included, which was Baldwin at his best.

He's funny as hell but it does lean awfully heavily towards the gay gags. A little more variety would make it better.

I miss the one with Alec and Jan Hooks. Jan is a waitress in a diner and Alec is a cowboy that acts super cool.

also, I dont see how they cut out Alec as a priest taking confessional from Julia Sweeny . 'I like to gently spread the cookie and lick the creamy filling'.

Am I the only one that loves that soap opera doctor skit where he doesn't pronounce anything right? Maybe it's cuz I saw it as a kid but I understood it better this time and the cancer being "ben-ig or malig-nont" line is still killing me.

I'll agree with everyone and say that "best of" shows like this just emphasize how shitty SNL has become. Baldwin's an excellent host. The writing's great. Hartman, Farrell, Hooks, et al are hilarious.
