Spoiler:
This plot sounds like the Moldavian massacre cliffhanger that one season in Dynasty

The commercials look horrible.

Spoiler:
A shooting? A drunken Kristen at the funeral? Usually these are plot devices used at least 4 or 5 years into a soap when they have run out of ideas. What's next, Caleb and Oliver joining forces to get even with everyone?

That's the whole problem with this season. They turned a show that was a soap opera spoof into an actual soap opera, and not a 90210/Melrose-quality one at that.

I'm still pissed that they killed off Cal last week.

I wonder if Luke will come down from the Portland...and maybe stay for next season and help return the show to the days of yore.

I miss Luke. It seems, other than the core characters, once you get to like someone like Luke or Ana, they leave town.
The EW review was right on. They start a plot and then just drop it.

Sandy calls Cal "an absolutely terrible father-in-law" in his eulogy.

Caleb was killed off because he signed to do another show.

I think that little set of fisticuffs made up for the lack of them throughout most of the season. Maybe...

Too bad Oliver didn't show up like Seth said so they could shoot him too just to give some of us fans a little more closure.

Wow, the OC sure does know how to pull off a depressing finale. Think they'll try for a third?

wow, my mouth dropped open. They may have suffered the sophomore slump, but this season finale was EXCELLENT. Lets just hope next season, they get that "OC spark" back!

That was a beautiflly filmed final scene...that, the oliver line, and the return of the retro-Ryan made this a great finale.

Definite props to Fox for their editing of the commercials for the finale. I loved it that the major teases had been for things that were over with 40 minutes into the show.

As for the finale itself, excellent way to end the season. I agree that this season was in no way shape or form better than the first one (and I thought I heard that Oliver was coming back....excellent shot by Seth), but the episode tonight was a great pay off.

Maybe Anna comes back next year

Just wait until the end of the summer and then you can catch the repeat.

Trey pretends to be the muscle for the druggie chick during a drug deal. She gives him a gun
Jimmy and Julie are going to give their a relationship another try
Kirsten goes into rehab
Ryan finds out about Trey attacking Marissa, he goes to beat the shit out of him, they fight and Trey is about to smash Ryan in the head with a phone when Marissa shoots him with the gun the druggie chick gave him.

About the episode, loved the North Shore and Oliver lines. Should be interesting how this all plays out next season.
