How would you analyze TONY SOPRANO?

Judging from five seasons of The Sopranos, how would you judge Tony? In season one, you first see him admiring and adoring the ducks in his swimming pool so you know he is sensitive and kind.

In that same episode, you see him run down a man with his car with a look of maniacal glee on his face. No remorse. Just business.

Hes definitely a sociopath. A sociopath has their own view on what life should be, and they can often be selfish and remorseless.

But is he a psychopath? He is definitely capable of murder, but not just the murder of complete strangers, but capable of murdering his friends and family. Does he feel remorse for it? I think so, because he dreams about them. He rationalizes things by saying, oh, they deserved it, and even if it is true that they deserved it (by their laws and upbringing), a normal person does not kill other people.

But is he a psychopath, or just an over-the-top sociopath?

Carefully.

And respectfully.

sociopath. He has a sense of right and wrong, but not really a sense of when to apply it.

I wouldn't. He'd probably have me killed if I did. I'd leave it to WIllie and Bill to do carefully, and respectfully from afar.

What if he found out his son, A.J., did what his cousin TonyB did? Could he kill A.J.?

No, but he wouldn't stop someone else from doing it. He may try to get AJ to leave and never come back, but that is as far as he could go.

No way in hell. Look what he did for his cousin, that is like a son to him, you don't think he would do everything in his power to protect his actual son?
