Brilliant!

Well we did get Some answers....finally but if these characters would actually ask the questions we want to know, it might go a bit quicker, instead ABC wants it strectched out.

At least we know the Black Rock is not a rock but a ship.

Why anyone will buy this on dvd is beyond me. ARRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHGGGHGHH!!!!

Great episode. Note to the writers: Shirtless Sawyer = very good. Let's see some more of that in the future.

So... people think they were "brought to the island" yet the big T-res thingy is a security system? Why bring them there yet kill them?
We'll probably find out in 2 seasons.

Spoiler:
Has it actually been announced that Michelle Rodriquez has been added to the cast? I read she was a just a guest?

Spoilered for those who have never seen Babylon 5:

Spoiler:
The invisible monster is a weapon the Drakh have created out of leftover Shadow technology that destroys hyperspace, and the island is actually the Well of Forever ("where questions are answered"). Delenn, a.k.a. "the frenchwoman", is there undercover to gather intelligence before the Alliance strikes.

dadaluholla 05-19-05 12:45 PM

BLACK ROCK is also an anagram of BARK CLOCK, so at some TIME, the DOG will play an important role in the secrets of this island.

I had a feeling that's what was going on!

Good one Tracer!!

I can't deal with all the speculation in this thread so I ain't reading. I just wanted to say that that rocked and the last few seconds - the Blair Witch-like shot of the smoke with the abrupt cut to black - really pulled the rug out from under me, what with the soaring music and beautiful shots of the raft launching. Man!

I just turned to my wife and said "Looks like another vote for the Pope is underway."

Well I guess we now know what is in the hatch. It holds a room designed to kill. You see it is really part of a cube network. A series of death rooms to test people. This room was rejected for some reason and left on the island where it couldn't hurt anyone. The numbers are test for anyone that is good with numbers. Once they pass the test the hatch opens. Usually it would take you to a new room but since this one was rejected its just the outside world on one side and death trap on the other.

I'd say that you're correct, although I do like Naveen Andrews (Sayid) too.

I thought the numbers might be coordinates too, so I looked them up. The location is as land-locked as you can get and isn't in the Pacific.

I remember reading a Lost message forum where someone says that inside the hatch contains computers with info of all the survivors

Oh, shit... this is hot stuff here.

Apparently some concept art has leaked from the show's production, and we have our first images of the "monster."

It looks like it has two different forms. There's definitely more to this thing than meets the eye...

This sounds like Decepticon treachery if you ask me!

The Roman.

Maybe he's a gladiator and he rides around in a chariot and fights the T-Rex.

More than.

Maybe he equals MORE THAN the numbers.

Harm note.

He kills musical notes... Charlie's a musician!!!!!!!!

I'll take Anagrams for a thousand, Alex.

Don't forget Meat Horn! I don't think I want to know what that would mean.

BassDude 05-20-05 11:17 AM

Ya think Shannon recognized Saayid from the "watch my bag" incident, or did she just hook up on the island with a guy who looks...umm...Arab?

vegasbaby 05-20-05 12:03 PM

This show reminds me of what David Lynch did with Twin Peaks.

They're making it up as they go along.

I doubt the creator knows what will happen in Season 3 yet ...

Groucho 05-20-05 12:10 PM

While Twin Peaks is the classic example of making it up as you go along, I see no evidence that this is the case with Lost.

Take, for instance, the minor subplot involving Kate's toy plane. That was obviously pathed out to be revealed through several story arcs.
