Baby V is the only one that didn't bore me. Her excitement is so genuine. Simon said this was the biggest night of her life, how could she NOT smile? I mean really now...It was obvious Clive was nitpicking. Vonzell is an exceptional talent, and she doesn't deserve to be treated the way she does. IF she really was a Diva, I'd love to see the attitude she'd give the judges, but thankfully shes the sweet, down to earth Vonzell I enjoy and have come to admire. Bo's acapella didn't really do anything for me...

I guess what needs to be said is that for once, they all are deserving, so whatever happens, happens.

I would have to say Bo was the best tonight, even though I didn't really enjoy it, his first song was excellent. Carrie never blows me away, and nothing changed.

I wouldn't buy Carrie or Bo's cd...I would pick up Vonzies on the first day!

and I wonder how many Bo fans would want a manufactured pop album from Clive Davis...I wonder if Bo would really get to be himself....who knows.

I've never bought an CD of any Idol contestant...but I will seriously be considering picking up Bo's CD. He's the first Idol contestant I've seen that might be able to transcend the cheeziness of this program and become a "true" superstar...someone we'll still be listening to 20 years from now. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but he's the first guy on the show I would watch perform even if this wasn't a contest.

That being said, I still have a soft spot in my heart for Carrie...just because she's so damn cute. :drool:

Vonzell has increasingly been getting on my nerves the last few weeks. Really hope she goes tonight.

I think both Carrie and Vonzell have gone into the crapper the past few weeks. Bo on the other hand has improved. There is an off chance that I would buy and Bo CD. No chance in hell I would buy a Carrie CD (not my style of music) and I could go buy any number of Vonzell CD's today (different name same sound) but there is no chance I'll buy it when it comes out.

If Bo doesn't win then I'll be disappointed. And this is coming from a guy that couldn't stand Bo in the begining.

It all depends what they would do with Bo if he wins on wether I would buy his CD. I think it would be better for him if he didn't win because he would be able to do what he wants.

Vonzell, to me, is trying WAY too hard to be Whitney Houston (pre-crack whore version, of course). And it's not working.

Voted for Bo last night. Hope he continues on. Really needs to be Bo vs. Carrie next week. That being said, I'm sticking by my earlier prediction. Bo's the best of the 3, but I think he's going tonight.

Just watched the show. I was off screwing my secretary last night, so I had my girlfriend record it for me.

Hmmm... I would liked to have seen the numbers from last week. From what Ryan said, it seemed close. It really sort of calls into question the validity of the vote, doesn't it? When you have these guys all in what amounts to a stastical dead in the vote and people are getting busy signals on the phone lines. Kind of like Ruben vs. Clay from Idol II.

As for the performances.

Round One:

Bo tore shit up on "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." Good job there.

Carrie, who I'm not normally a fan of, was damned good with "Crying." I swear, I like her when she's NOT doing country.

Vonzell - Probably the weakest of the three in this round, though not by much. Clive Davis was right about her smiling too much.

Round One goes to Bo, with Carrie a very close second.

Round Two:

Vonzell - "Chain of Fools" She's better when she has a good song to work with. She had good energy here, and I liked the performance.

Bo - Risky move, but he pulled it off. It's not easy to stand up there alone without a band to rely on. Not familiar with the song even though I saw Badlands back in '89 with Great White and Tesla.

Carrie - Not a fan of Air Supply, but she did a great job here. She seemed a little livlier than normal, which is a plus for her.

Round two goes to Bo, with Carrie and Vonz tied at a very close second.

Round Three: Judges picks. And incidently, every one of these songs was the performer's weakest performance of the night. Kind of went off on a bum note.

Vonz - Decent performance, but I don't think she really had a feel for the song.

Bo - A solid, if workmanlike performance. I think he was channeling a little bit of Constantine there, too.

Carrie - Worst performance of the night. She didn't seem to have a feel for the song and her voice sounded shaky. Back to being Miss America.

Bo carried this one by default. Pretty mediocre show all around with the judge's picks.

Best of the night: Bo by a mile.

Not sure about second place and shitcanned -- Carrie easily bested Vonz on the first song, tied with her on the second, and gave the worst of the night on the third. But Carrie seems to have a strong fanbase, so that should carry her into the finals. It's really a crapshoot, though, as to who's leaving. If the votes have been close, then it could be anyone.

BTW - My girlfriend told me she called in for Bo all night, got a lot of busy signals, but managed to get a shitload of calls in. She said she stopped counting at one hundred.

I've been trying to call off and on for Carrie, but like last week, can't get through - on either number.

I dont want the show but happened to be flipping through the channels last night. I thought Bo was great. Give him a makeover and cut the hair and he might be even better. I think the last three are all very good but the songs that they pick for them aren't always the best to highlight their talent. Some songs dont always do the best to highlight their talent.
So far, my choice would be Bo but I havent seem them from the start. That acapella song he did was pretty amazing.

The best bet for my tastes is to give Bo a band(not sure how good his band back home is) and go from there. I don't want them to do the normal pop thing and make the band an after thought.

except they are all under contracts with the show, whether they win or not
some get to have records made.. others have to sit on their ass and wait until the contract runs out, so that they can sign a deal with someone else.

if one person was able to get through that many times... it makes you wonder if bo really was getting as many votes would have been expected

if bo goes.. it becomes obvious that they didnt need to do the show last night, they could have skipped the singing and just let everyone vote for who they were going to anyways.

I would guess that Anthony votes would go to Carrie, making Bo vulnerable. It doesn't matter anymore because for me, if Vonzell goes tonight, I'm not even interested in the outcome -- the left-overs would be too boring to me to even care about.

Overall, I liked the performances I saw last night.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Bo could do a killer, spot-on rendition of "Say Hello 2 Heaven " by Temple of the Dog (Cornell/Vedder side project)? Maybe even "Hunger Strike".

But I was just thinking that when I heard him do his acapella tune.

Name them, make it 'Bo Bice and the (insert name)'...real musicians would fall all over themseleves to record a rock album with a real rock frontman and get popstar/AI type money doing so.

Naw...I kind of agree with him. It all boils down to being a reality TV Show, and there are some shows that are just not entertaining to me. When my fav left (Anwar) the entertaining aspect of the show left for me as well. I basically kept Tivo'ing the show, come to DVDTalk to hear what was interesting/controversial/of interest, then go watch that portion before deleting the show from the hard drive.

I really don't care who wins anymore, but like ta stay up on it just for fun. (And so I can keep up with the water cooler talk!)

How refreshing is it that Bo can write his own music/songs and play instruments.

Any idiot can pick up a guitar and write a song. Doesn't mean that the result is good.

Has anyone noticed the teleprompter showing the words of the song when Bo is singing?
