Yeah, all he is doing is reporting his observation that Milch was willing to kill the child character off because Milch thought the kid's parents were a pain in the ass.

Whether they were or not, or what they were complaining about is completely irrelevant to the Olyphant's story, which is about how Milch ran the show and was willing to blow up the series' narrative at the drop of a hat.

The footage from the DVDs where Milch would be writing and re-writing stuff in their writer's room was fascinating, and having it viewed it, this comes as no shock as he was constantly coming up with ingenious plot changes and so on...in the middle of shooting the season.

I thought that kid was a pretty good actor. It's a shame that "someone connected to him" got him fired from the show, assuming that's what actually happened.
