Joey 05/05/05 (+TiVo alert)

Episode Title: "Joey and the Temptation"

Spoiler:
Joey (Matt LeBlanc) must struggle through a love scene with his ultimate temptation, Carmen Electra (starring as herself), even though he's made an exclusive committment to his girlfriend Sarah (Madchen Amick). Also starring Drea de Matteo, Paulo Costanzo and Jennifer Coolidge.

TiVo alert: This should be the episode that was preempted last week due to the press conference. If you have a "First Run Only" season pass, you'll need to manually include this one. TiVo thinks it's a repeat.

It also looks like they are playing 2 episodes back to back on 5/12, so if you are padding, you'll have to manually change it to catch both.

I was cracking up the way she reacted to Michael being on the set with Joey and the way she was groping him and all...

Joey: "He thinks were in the mafia."
Michael: "Why? Because we're Italian?"
Joey: "No, because your mother told him we were!"

I was hoping a more direct nod to Sopranos would've come of that exchange.

Was that right at the beginning of the show? Mine didn't start recording until 30 seconds into the show. I was wondering why they kept bringing up the mafia references.

Mine didn't start recording until about 30 seconds in too, but I did hear that exchange. It was right near the beginning.

Season pass? So if you buy TiVo, you have to pay a yearly or monthly fee??

Well, a DirecTV TiVo would be an extra $5 per month

I'm not sure what the pricing is right now on a standalone TiVo, but I think it's $12.99 per month or $299 lifetime.

And anybody who says that's too much to pay for "something a VCR does for free" has never used one.

You've got to be shitting me, that you don't know how a TiVo works. Don't you live in the TV forum?

It's too much, I've never used one, and I never use a VCR.

Different strokes, I guess. I gladly give up 2 fast-food meals a month to pay for my subscription (that's all it costs, after the $99 unit).

No, I'm not "shitting" you. I've never even seen one. And no, I don't "live in the TV forum." I post here probably once a week; maybe once every two weeks.

And you're right -- different strokes. $13/month is unjustifiable for me, but then again I don't need to see all my favorite shows that I miss. If I don't have time to watch it when it's on, I probably don't have time to watch it later. If you do, that's great...I won't say you've got to be shitting me.

I have no idea how a TiVo works either. I live in Canada so it is not available. Big freakin' deal. You can be a TV fan without it.

Comcast looked fine here in Chicago in HD... oh and I used my Motorola 6412 to DVR it in HD, and that only costs $5 a month to rent the unit

Uh, I post in the TV Forum several times a week, and I don't know how to use TiVo either. I'm sure it would be more convenient than a VCR, but I still find the courage to go on living.
