Given the guest stars, I've been looking forward to this one ever since they announced the crossover a month ago.

I didn't realize until I looked at the TVguide yesterday that they were running them back to back on the same night. I wonder how many people will miss SVU because they think it's on at the normal time.

I can't wait for this tonight.
I'm just worried about seeing BJ Lips getting attacked. :( |
spiderman will save the day

Two good episodes. I thought the SVU one was more focused, but really, the whole thing felt like a long SVU episode, since Benson and Stabler did almost all the interviewing in Trial By Jury. I did like the interplay between Stabler and the TBJ cop when they got Molina to spill his guts, though.
Good performances by both Molina and Lansbury. It's great to see her working again. And can anyone get a screencap of Casey wearing the team softball shirt? I couldn't stop laughing, watching her walking around in this jersey that said "Sex Crimes" in a real slinky font. Too damn funny. |
That was great. I thought Alfred Molina was terrific.
I loved the Sex Crimes softball uniform too.:thumbsup: |
Not bad, but not great either. It was pretty clear which was the superior show. Everything started off great with SVU and then stumbled through TBJ. Molina and Lansbury were fantastic, though.
It's just a shame B.D. couldn't be there. Between the crossover with Acevedo and Rita Moreno, it had the makings of another great Oz party. das |

I've seen some repeats of SVU on USA, but I've only become a regular watcher in the past several weeks, why is BD Wong in these episodes. Is he pulling a Jesse Marting and working on something on the side?
|
So no one has a screencap of the Sex Crimes softball shirt?

I don't think I've cracked up at L&O more than at that shirt. Hell, I wish they sold those. |
just download the ep and take one
|
I don't bittorrent, so where would you suggest I download it?

Those are awesome. Thanks!

Watching these episodes back to back really shows how superior is SVU is. Not sure if TBJ will be back next year (the season finale was on Friday), but if it is, I won't be tuning in.
|
Actually, last night's TBJ was the best of the season.

TBJ had a very nice 1st season. It isn't quite up to the quality of SVU but it is without question better than the original right now. I love Bebe Neuwirth in that role and with the dearth of quality drama female leads on television (assuming the ladies of Wisteria Lane are nominated in the comedy category), I definitely think she deserves an Emmy nomination. |
I still have the last episode on PVR, and based on the praise here, I'll check it out.
My biggest dislikes about this series are the characters. I don't like them. I really don't. The thing that I really liked about this series was the behind the scenes interactions amongst the judges. We never see any of that in any other series, and I really liked it. It humanized the judges. |
My biggest problem with TBJ was the cops. They weren't interesting. But then they did the episode about the cop who replaced Briscoe (the one where he used to work with the policemen who were on trial), and I got into his character. Then, during the SVU crossover, he and Stabler had a great scene together interviewing Alfred Molina, and it solidified the character for me. The guy with the scratchy voice and bad back is boring, though. No charisma.
