Thought I'd start this so we could discuss anything that we might not have noticed the first time through.

First thing I noticed was Weiss from Alias as the pilot :p . I wasn't an Alias viewer at that time, so didn't know who he was.

Also, at least their hair is getting longer as time goes :D .

Hurley said "46 survivors" in this recap when he reported to Jack, mentioning that Ethan was not amongst the original passengers.

Was it me, or were there no flashbacks prior to the crash? Seemed like everything was on the island.

Hmm, everthing is there for a reason...

ChrisHicks 04-27-05 08:09 PM

so how much of this was new?

OldDude 04-27-05 08:11 PM

None of it was new.

Yeah, I don't know what was with the show description, there were no flashbacks.

Previews for next week look goooooood. :)

I thought it sounded like Brian Cox, but I could be wrong.

I'm assuming there's an actor Bryan Cox, other than the half-insane football playing variety?

No, I'm talking about Brian Cox the actor (Troy, Bourne Identity/Supremacy, etc.) Although Bryan Cox the football player would have been pretty funny.

Haha, ok thanks. Indeed, that would've been funny.

They didn't even show Hurley and the "numbers" did they? You'd think if they were vital to the storyline, they'd have shown them -confused- .

true, but "the Journey" was all about what was going on, on the island. The numbers so far mean very little on the island(that they have revealed). The numbers main focus was in flashbacks and they didn't show any of those during this special.

So all they could have shown were the Hurley seeing the numbers on the paper, and then a shot of them on the hatch. Doesn't exactly scream high plot point in a recap episode.

Really shoddy narrating. Just pure crap.

Thos19 04-28-05 08:19 AM

Anyone's HD feed 4:3 tonight instead of 16x9. Maybe it was just a screw-up here with the Boston ABC affiliate?

Thos.

Yeah, it was kind of pointless, really. I liked the voice, but he just didn't add a whole lot it. He only said a sentence or two every 10 minutes anyways.

And that's how you narrate an episode.

They should've had someone from the show narrate, like Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, or Terry O'Quinn. Or had all of the main characters contribute.
