Yeah! She's had some other funny smartass remarks to Al in past episodes.

So what was Al going to do with the Indian head?

Wrapping up the head like it was package he wanted to ship gave Al the excuse to go question Charlie Utter.

What the hell did Al tell Johnny and Dan just after he came back from conversing with Charlie?

Al was saying that there fortunes had turned.

Tolliver had the upper hand; first, because he was in league with Wolcott, and then secondly and moreso, because Tolliver was the only person who knew the truth about Wolcott killing the whores.
But now that the truth about Wolcott (both his purpose in the camp and his killingways) was becoming known, Tolliver's position was weakened.

At first, it looked like Al was being squeezed out, because Hearst's representative had chosen to do business with Tolliver instead of Al.
Now, Al is thinking that his alliance with Garrett and Bullock is putting him in a good position.

Is it me, or is Al getting a little too soft-n-fuzzy lately? He needs to get scary again. Soon.

He's working a lot of complex angles at once, and he's smart enough to know that being a bull in a china shop isn't the way to pull it off. He's at his best right now.

The writing in this show is fucking brilliant.

I loved how Charlie Utter picked a fight with Woolcott, without letting on about the true reason for the asskicking. "He stepped on my foot."
I was afraid Woolcott was using the Hickock letter as a way to get Utter alone to use the razor on him.

I liked that Al tipped Alma off about the Pinkerton c*cksuckers, and good to see Al figure out Cy's motives, now we need to see Dan do some slicing.

Great episode, with Al back on his feet the wide number of small sub plots setup in the previous episodes this season are starting to converge.

Best moment for me (other than Utter kicking the crap out of Woolcott) was the way Al delivered the line about his preference for Darjeeling tea. The finger over the mouth was hilarious.

Good ep last night. Liked Con and Leon's bit about the Chinese whores.

Same here. The whole time Wolcott had his right hand under the desk while he was reciting Wild Bill's letter. I was expecting him to shoot Charlie in the back as he walked out of the room.

They sure do have a lot going on in deadwood. Great episode. I wonder if we will find out who gave Jane the beat down. I have a feeling she is going to die drunk like the good doctor told her.

Another great scene was when Al comes to Mrs. Garrett's room and Sophia asks is she should go downstairs since that's what she had to do whenever Bullock came to the room.

Man, seeing Al back on his feet is a breath of fresh air. The show was getting so bogged down, being about Bullock and Tolliver. No disrespect to Powers Boothe, who is a great actor, but Tolliver is nowhere near the brilliant strategist that Al is, and seeing him buddy up to Walcott was just annoying (not from a plot standpoint, but just as far as Walcott is an annoying guy). Anyway, seeing him plotting in this episode reminded me why I started watching in the first place.

I loved E.B. getting so angry about being left out of the meeting.

"Am I still the mayor, Al?"
"For all I care, E.B., in perpetuity."

Best moment of the night, though, was when Trixie said to Saul "He should tread lightly who lives in hope of p*ssy." The look on Bullock's face after she said that was easily the best acting in Olyphant's entire career (and I've seen him in more than just Deadwood).

I guess i'm still a little confused about the conversation with the guy who paid a dime for a chinese whore. What were they looking at?

And then when AL was walking down the stairs after talking with Mrs. Garrett...
E.B.: "Have we chosin a new pope?"

I believe they were looking at the line that was queued to have some time with the Chinese whores. The comment was about Lee (the tall China-man) keeping the line orderly and Cy's guys were commenting about the more effective he was at selling the ***** than they were.

Handful of laugh-out-loud moments last night. Bullock's face at the p***y remark, Jewel's snap at Al, E.B. kicking Richardson in the ass is always funny, Dan, on why his trip was off: "That's what I thought...", Al slapping the news editor (forgot his name), Leon, on Sy's "whore advice": "We are but insects in the presence of a god.", and for some reason Wolcott getting ripped a new one was hysterical to me.

E.B.:"What is your thinking Ms. Garrett?"
Alma:"That I'm delighted to be leaving your presence, Mr. Farnum."

I can't gush enough about this show, Swearengen's character, or McShane's portrayal of him.

i'm surprised Wu hasnt gotten around to killing that San Francisco c*cksucker. i cant wait for a showdown between those 2.
