Alias -- "Tuesday" -- 03.30.2005

"Tuesday"

Spoiler:
Sydney's life hangs in the balance when a mission goes awry -- and Marshall, surprisingly, is the only one who might be able to save her. Meanwhile, Dixon is exposed when a deadly pathogen is released inside APO.

If the character in the spoiler is more central to this week's plot than any other character: this will be the best Alias episode ever. :D

Quick question from an Alias newbie...I just started watching this season, but was confused so went back and started watching the previous seasons. The highlighted letter in each location - do they mean anything? Do they add up to spell something? Or do they just pick a random letter in the word to highlight? Thanks a lot.

At first I had no idea what your question was. You mean when they show the name of place on the screen and one of those letters is highlighted and focused on as it rushes toward the screen? Yeah, I never even thought if that was important. I would say it isn't.

Hehe, yep, that's what I mean. I started watching only after I started Lost last fall and realized JJ wrote both. I figured with JJ as the writer, it might be a puzzle or something.

In between seasons one and two, I could swear I came across a website that said when you write down and rearrange the highlighted letters, it was supposed to be something.

Like "fool" or "idiot" or something..

I knew she wouldn't die!

Patman 03-30-05 08:43 PM

"Flinkman...Marshall Flinkman" should be the title of this episode. So far, Marshall has been cracking me up as he gets to play Agent Flinkman. You go, guy!

Patman 03-30-05 08:57 PM

OMG! This episode borrowed a couple of scenes from Tarantino (Sydney locked in a coffin, and Marshall inadvertently shooting the main bad guy while putting the cell phone gun together), and I was ROTFLMMFAO for like 10 minutes straight as Marshall had to use a spork to scoop out an eyeball. Jack was like "what's a spork?" HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh damn, funny episode. Marshall rocks. (Also LOL when Marshall was singing a lullaby to his son Mitchell on the phone half a world away).

maingon 03-30-05 08:58 PM

one of the best episodes of the season. very funny and exciting.

Movies-2-Go 03-30-05 09:10 PM

I agree, this was the best episode this season. This season is getting better with each episode.

Barry Woodward 03-30-05 09:30 PM

Best episode this season and one of my favorites of the series. It felt like Alias of old. Drew Goddard (Welcome To Liberty Village) and Marshall Flinkman strike back! We need more like this.

areacode212 03-30-05 09:33 PM

Yes, awesome episode....I may actually start watching this again. I always found him somewhat overrated on BtVS & Angel, but Drew Goddard did a very nice job to bring me back into the Alias fold.

Tommy Ceez 03-30-05 09:59 PM

WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE...I dont know who directs each episode, but that one LOOKED like an Alias episode...no claustrophobic close ups...no ambigious office (was tonight the first long shot in the new office?)
While I would like an on-track storyline, this was a good start

Well, considering where Sydney spent most of the episode, not entirely. ;)

MrX 03-30-05 10:13 PM

"Marshall, your other North"

I agree, best episode of the season.

Tommy Ceez 03-30-05 10:15 PM

"I think I just got Hepatitus"

Ranger 03-30-05 10:25 PM

Good episode! Very funny indeed, but not my favorite though. I still think the werewolf and ice episdes were better. But today's episode is in third place. :)

Rogue588 03-30-05 11:33 PM

"Bristow. Jack Bristow."

Great ep

JamesBrian 03-30-05 11:45 PM

Give Marshall the Emmy now for comedy! Offically one of the best supporting TV characters ever after tonight. I would love to have a buddy like Marshall and would not have a problem gushing over his baby pictures. It won't be long before he has his kid's picture projected onto a full moon, or at least on an unblockable popup on abc.com....

the narrator 03-31-05 12:03 AM

pretty good episode...Marshall need more airtime

the big train 03-31-05 12:45 AM

Jack seemed to enjoy describing the eye removal process a little too much.

animalmystic 03-31-05 01:19 AM

Great great fucking episode!!!

One of the best of the series, i shit you not.

Marshall needs more screen time for sure.

Loved how the office was locked down and were basically powerless, loved it.

Loved the scene where the old lady "liked watching him" in the store he was at with the chickens, classic!

Now this is how Alias should be, nobody was whining, nobodys pus.sy was aching, straight up Alias.

Spork, LOL!

Jack Bristow is a pimp!

Loved the Tarantino references (although The Bride didn't use a spork to pluck out any eyeballs.)

I have missed a lot of episodes this season, but this is one of the best I've seen in a LOONG time! (Self-contained episode, correct?)
