The Shield "Bang" 3/29/05
"Bang"
With Farmington on the brink of a gang war, Monica and Vic race to find the catalyst and stop the bloodshed, enlisting Antwon's help along the way. Still in the doghouse, Dutch decides to take action in thawing the relationship between Claudette and the Claudette and the DA. Danny and Julien get up close and personal with the Farmington 1-Niners, while Monica looks to Vic for support when the implementation of her property seizure policy challenges her morality.

I agree with that. I'll bet Shane is supplying her with excess stuff from busts.
This season is an interesting counterpoint to last season. Last season was all about not knowing what's just around the corner. This season seems a little more telegraphed, although I don't mean that negatively. I just mean that the characters are putting themselves into situations where we as audience members can see some of the ways in which they might play out. Of course, I know The Shield never follows a straight course, but it's a little less madcap than last season.
I'd like to see how Dutch plans on controlling Claudette. Heh.
And the scene between Vic, his wife, and the pediatrician was the best scene of the episode.

anyone else think Vic and his wife are getting screwed by the lawyer? I think they will use his doctor, who is really expensive but will say what they need, then they won't end up getting anything from the lawsuit. Seems to me that the laywer is scamming them for some how.
I'm also very impressed with how much I like Glenn Close so far, I'd never been a fan but she's really suprised me.

I had the same exact impression. I'm not sure I buy the fact that someone with the street smarts of Vic would fall for it, but I guess his traits as a parent override that.
Glenn Close has been fantastic so far.

I think Julian saw the kid run from being ID as a gang member and thought he might be one of those kids that is not 100% into it and might be able to be saved, perhaps like Julian himself in his youth.
Hopefully Vic remembers he is a cop and checks out this lawyer and his "doctors" that are so expensive - I have always heard that class action lawyers cover all up front fees since they will be making stupid bank on settlements.
Anyone else think the DA will ask for some old scholl Vic-type favors from Dutch?

Even Vic was feeling a little sorry for the banger as they were taking his house. I was very happy that Monica stood firm.

Only Vic Mackey would get a new job under the terms that Internal Affairs would be watching him extra close..and then immediatly try to re-assemble the Strike Team!!!!

I saw something red, and it was partially obstructed by the cap the baby was wearing. She always seemed like a skanky user so I wouldn't be surprised.

As far as the class action thing I got the strong feeling that the Head of Peadiatrics was trying to warn them that it was a scam. Parents are sometimes blinded by love and can't think around corners like Vic normally would. My guess is they get hosed and Vic goes back on the take to make it up despite IA riding the team.
Another great episode .

I was also a little concerned over adding Close to the cast, but I think that final scene where she shows her character's true colors was the final piece. I'm glad she's here.
Just continues to be a fantastic show.

I thought Monica's "3x5 cards" speech, which went into another gear after she ditch the notes, shows how effortlessly Glenn Close acts, and how much attention she can command in any scene she is in. Mackey has to feel like he's back in the minor leagues at times in her presence.
Had to feel a bit for the doctor that Mackey went a little nuts on during their "consultation" to get some testing done for these children for the lawsuit.
