Ok, I know "raping my childhood" is the new "jump the shark" catch phrase at DVDtalk.com, but I do have some fond memories of this movie growing up (watching it on video, that is, I am not THAT old!) but now I see they are remaking this with Harry Anderson of Night Court fame (possible good there, maybe) and with Leslie Neilson. Sorry, but Leslie Neilson hasn't been funny since 1984, at the latest. I know that's a personal opinion, but I feel ashamed of saying I was ever a fan of his with his recent crop of the movies from the 90's through today, and to see him attatched to a project like this....GAH. Not to mention, why did they have to remake this? Of course, I guess if they can remake "It's a Wonderful Life," anything is game.
