Pretty sad that there are no more hot chicks on the show. I was hoping for a non-elim.

Ambuh and Kelly are still in it.

I liked how the one guy was saying how eating cow brain at home is usually juicy. Plus, I'm Chinese, I have to eat wierd stuff like that every now and then. Honestly, if the meat is cooked enough, it all tastes the same after a while. |

Hek, if I had to, I could probably eat the bone too if I was forced too. |
Well, like you said.. as long as it's cooked all the way thru. None of that crud they put out in Fear Factor. I don't think I'd have a problem finishing the 4 lbs in under 1.5 hours. I can scarf a 3 lb burrito in 15 mins.

Overly cooked meat all tastes the same. raw or spoiled food with maggots and stuff like that on Fear Factory is completely different. |
I think the NYC DVDTalkers ought to all chip in and BBQ 4 lbs of meat for Dabaomb and time him. If you have enough people it shouldn't cost too much each and the entertainment factor could be worth it. If nothing else it's a free meal for Dabaomb. Happy hurling!

I just watched the online video about Patrick at the Roadblock and it looks to me like he was able to start eating again after declaring that he quit. My take on it was that he watched Debbie to see how she'd do, realized she was going to eat it all in less than 4 hours and decided he'd better get eating.

Oh, man. I LOVE those places. The "churrascaria"-type of Brazilian cuisine. And, maybe it's a totally different story when it's right in front of me, but I would've relished the chance to eat 4 lbs. of meat! I'm carnivorous like that. Now I fear, if I ever try out for the show, they'll skip a roadblock like that for quite some time, since they just did one for this season. But, perhaps they do something like this every season. (Just started watching mid-way last season, so I'm not too familiar on how often they have similiar roadblocks on AR.) |
If anyone remembers back to Survivor Marquesas, Rob did not do well in the gross food eating challenge. He was squeamish on his first attempt and chosen by the other tribe to be the one for his team in a tiebreaker. He lost the tiebreaker to Neleh.

Add me to those that think they should not have the "fear factor" type roadblocks. Kudos to Rob for always thinking outside the box... or maybe just thinking. The man is smart.
For those that think they could have easily done this, that is how bar bets are won. Try eating two slices of bread in two minutes. Only rule is you have to fully eat the bread and you can't drink anything. Sound easy? Try it. I think the contestants here were motivated and were trying very hard. Hard to imagine trying to gag down some gross meat for over four hours. |

My family has a restaurant - we have a 20oz steak on the menu. We sell an average of 3 per week and I think that is a lot of meat for 1 sitting. I have never seen anyone attempt to eat 4 lbs of meat in a certain time limit. I am impressed with the one's who did.
I don't understand how the 2 girls could go so far out of the way. They know how many miles or kilometers they shoud be going and aoubt how long that should take - I thinks that most people would realize that they were off corse sooner than they did. Not mom and son are just stupid for driving around in the city for 2 hours without finding the correct road. |
They usually have at least one "eating" challenge in every race. Remember the Hungarian red soup? The scrambled ostrich egg? It's nothing new. And it's not like they are eating blended cockroaches and earthworms.

I finally got to see this recorded last night. Great strategy again by The Robfather. He locked in a decent finish nad only sacrificed a possible chance at a win for it. I would take that every week until the final leg if I could.
And if John Candy can down the Old 96er --including the fat and grizzle-- I don't see any problems with 4 pounds of BBQ'd meat. "Bon Appetit!" |
