Are shows thinking of DVD when leasing music rights now?

Now that most of the good/popular TV is making its way to DVD are they concentrating more on liscencing rights, so they get to use the original music from the show for the DVDs?

They should. This whole "substituting music" thing is getting outta hand.

Hopefully the contracts are written for 'all future releases/airings' to cover whatever format will come out after DVD.

I would hope so, but I wouldn't count on it. I think I remember reading a review for Las Vegas Season 1 on DVD which said they subsituted the theme song! for something different on the DVDs.

Is there any sites that list what music has been replaced on the dvds? I heard somewhere that a song was replaced on Smallville. I am curious as to what that song was.
