MONK -Season Finale - The most touching episode of television ever ?

Did anyone catch the Season Finale of Monk last night?

I'm not sure if it was the most touching episode of a TV series ever or if it just simply "jumped the shark".
I actually was crying at the end. A real heart string puller!
I felt so bad for Monk.

Anyway, anyone care to comment on this?

Yes, one of the most touching eps Monk has ever had.

Amazing to see Monk out of character holding & kissing the kid, and rolling around on the grass. I believe this showed how powerful love is and the need to have someone to love (and to be loved by).

I thought it was an awesome episode. I loved Natalie's reaction to Monk playing in the grass with Tommy. I think the show is so much better with her than it was with Sharona. Sad to see another season end, but it makes me look forward to the next.

Great episode. Nice to see a more human Monk than we have ever seen before.

I really haven't cared for this season (or partial season) much. Natalie's fine but the cases have been crappy. I realize that's not the most important part of the show but they used to be better.

BTW, anyone notice that the end credit music was a variation on the old theme?

One thing that I didn't like since Natalie joined is that two of the cases have been about her - much too many for the length of time on the show so far.

Very good episode. Got a bit teary eyed when Monk had to give up the kid at the end.

It seemed like they made it a little slower/sadder because of the "sad" ending.

Just watched it and I agree it was a very touching ending.

It was great seeing him rolling around in the grass and doing things we would never do otherwise.

Its wierd, I just finished watching Angel S5, and after jossverse I'm finding it difficult to connect to other shows.
This episode was too fake for me, sudden out of the blue behavior for monk. And a predictable ending, was there really any doubt it would turn out any other way?

For most touching I would recommend buffy's "The Gift" or "Becoming part2", or the angel kid stealing episode.

Calling 911 for a diaper change was rather , but a good episode otherwise.

Touching? Maybe.

Manipulative and a complete reversal of the character? Definitely.

says I.

It was pretty predictable that Frodo would defeat Sauron in Lord Of The Rings also, but it wasn't any less entertaining.

I thought it was sappy & not interesting enough for a season finale. It just didn't seem like a finale to me. I'm not big on kids in general, but I still didn't like it.
