Interesting Conan O'Brien Tonight Show rumor...

It's been rumored that when Conan takes over the Tonight Show Artie Lange might be his sidekick. The main reason for this currently Conan is a very popular talk show host to the college crowd demographic and bringing on Artie might attract more older viewers. I'm guessing its dependent on how well Stern does on Sirius.

Well Artie was on the show the other day, and got quite a bit of time for a second guest. They do seem to have some chemistry, and I like Conan's show a lot more then Howard's and his constant decline of late.

Ugh, I hope not.

If anything, bring back Andy!

Did Andy's show Triplets get canceled? I haven't seen it in a while.

I was actually getting fond of that Quintuplets show. It wasn't half-bad.

I doubt there's any merit to these rumors. In case you haven't seen Artie's stand up, it doesn't exactly attract an older crowd.

Will Conan's show be the same as it is now, or will be like Leno, just with Conan behind the desk ?? ( which I hope, isn't so )

I'd believe this rumor except for the fact that Artie doesn't exactly attract any of an older demographic more than Conan. They'd basically play to the same crowd.

Stern's listeners are in the 18-55 range which may be what they're going for. Too far off to tell now though.

The show is Quintuplets, it wasn't cancelled, it just reached the end of its first season. FOX tried their year round schedule thing, and this show started back in May or June. That's probably when the next season will start, unless Fox has given up on this year round idea.

But it is supposed to come back.

And Stern drew those numbers before Artie was there and will continue to do so when Artie leaves.

Artie is not an older demographic draw. I'm sorry, but he isn't. He's a college crowd type of guy.

Andy Richter was on the Stern show the days after he left Conan. Stern was killing him telling him what a dumb ass he was to leave the show.

I'm hoping this rumor is true because Leno is unbelievably annoying and he stole Stuttering John from Stern. John out, Artie in. I like it!

I can't stand Stuttering John, and I don't really like Lange. I hope it is just rumours.

I would like to see Patton Oswalt as sidekick.

I think as long as Max goes over with Conan, there won't be a need for a sidekick.

I agree. As much as I liked Andy when he was on the show, it always seemed awkward during interviews when Richter was sitting on the other side, occasionally chiming in. Although Conan is unfortunately going to have to tone down some of his antics, he definitely doesn't need any help on the show other than Max.

I love Conan, but loathe anything having to do with Stern so I'm personally hoping it'll just be Conan and Max.

Arite Lange? Conan has to dumb down alot of his jokes and antics by moving into an earleir timeslot, I doubt Artie Lange will help with that (he is pretty dirty). I didn't watch too much of Conan when Andy was on, but Conan does fine with just Max.

Also, Quintuplets got renewed for a second season. The ratings fared very well, and they also added a new cast member (Jason Priesty, from Fox's canceled Tru Calling)
