The gimmick for this one is clearly Rob and Amber, which I don't mind as the more viewers we bring to the show the better.

I think Rob & Ambuh will do much better than Donnie & Alison (big brother).

I've been filling in the short gap between these seasons by watching Season 3. Just have the two hour finale to finish. :)

I don't know if I necessarily want Rob and Amber to win, but I want them to make the final 3. Good personalities (and will be interesting to see their interaction as an established couple) and the more Amber the better. :)

A few inane observations:

3 girl/girl teams if you count Meredith and Gretchen.
Uchenna has got to be the silliest name of an Amazing Race contestant.
Ron and Kelly look like brother and sister.
Bolo's wife could kick Ray's ass.
Gay Men: 3 Lesbians: 0 Where are the lesbians?

Rob looks different in the photo above.

Is that the Hilton twins?

Any hint at all if they are continuing to cast people only in abusive relationships? I love give AR another chance but I just cant stand pandering to camera and abuse of last ones.

If you name your son Lynn, is there any doubt he'll end up gay? If he wasn't born that way, he probably was teased so much as a kid it turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The new commercial with The Killers' "Change you Mind" as the background music? ROCKS.

They sure are promoting this hard. I wonder if the Survivor tie-in will bring in very many new viewers?

I hope so and that's why I finally decided that having Boston Rob & Ambuh as the Survivor Team is a good idea.

We've also got the first Mother & Son team in AR history.

OK I'm embarrassed :blush: to say that Rob looks :drool: in that pic, back down to his Survivor "fighting weight" (he looked a little pudgy in the finale of All Stars).

I noted in an earlier thread about this season (speculation at the end of last season, I think) that I read something about one of the gay guys hasn't told his family he's gay yet... :rolleyes: cat's out of the bag now, buddy. :lol:

For a moment I thought I missed something and that they were going to have a special time today for the premiere episode.

Why were the brothers, Brian & Greg, left off the first post?

Stong agreement. The Killers are awesome, and the music is used very appropriately.

I for one am THRILLED that Robfather and Ambuh are there. They are the closest things to reality TV superstars, having already been featured for three seasons and now moving to a different show. They handle themselves very well on camera and I want to know more about them. This isn't like some Trista & Ryan wedding or a celeb fear factor. They'll be regular contestants and put in stressful settings that will test them. As a big fan of TAR and sometimes of Survivor, I can't wait.

The low rent version of Tenacious D?

Why on earth is this show on back to back to back, with maybe 1 month rest break? My god, yes it's a great show, but are they trying to milk everything before reality t.v goes bust?

The last 2 series was sub-par to what they put out before, but of course they have solid casting, so we would love or hate a group.

Now it's on again, my god, this used to be a big brother type of show where it's rare, but i guess not. It has massive ratings so now it's on almost 24/7.

Survivor has gone down hill the past 3 years (this year might be good).

But Big Brother is the pioneer of it all, u don't get get better than Will Kirby s2, or s3. Season 4 was garbage, and season 5 was good. It's once a year, so you are actually looking forward to it, unlike amazing race.

I'm not complaining. There is nothing I watch Tuesdays at 9 so bring on TAR.

Count me in as a bandwagon jumper,never seen The Amazing Race before(heard good things about it though) and i will be tuning in for Rob and Amber(mainly Amber ;) ).

I just saw on the news that Ron from "ron and Kelly" team is one of the soldiers originally a POW in the recent Iraq War.

Are Susan & Patrick the first mother/son team? We've had father/daughter (military dad & daughter from TAR5), mother/daughter (first round losers from TAR2), and father/son (don't quote me, but conservative dad & gay son from TAR3, I think).
