The Simpsons - 2/6/05

Jeff Albertson! :jawdrop:

Good so far about 10 minutes in.

Lateralus 02-06-05 09:57 PM

Jamitin!

Ranger 02-06-05 10:21 PM

I didn't understand what marge was saying about ashley judd - what did she say?

Bill Needle 02-06-05 10:28 PM

2/10

Would have been 1/10 except for Comic B..., er, Jeff Albertson reveal.

Brain Stew 02-06-05 10:31 PM

I didn't get to see it because FOX29 Philadelphia thought it would be a good idea to take up The Simpson's slot to tell stupid stories about things we saw during the Superbowl.

Artman 02-06-05 10:33 PM

Hmm... might be my least fav of the year so far. The biblical movies and Superbowl storyline was an odd pairing, should've been seperate episodes imo.

chileorgullo 02-06-05 10:33 PM

this is the funniest episode in a real long time !
there were so many funny moments.
yeah revealing comic book guys name was kind of unexpected and bad
might want to put that in spoiler tags...

Chad 02-06-05 10:35 PM

Good episode.

MrX 02-06-05 10:36 PM

Mario on the Italian tour bus:lol:

Ned's first movie about Cain and Abel was pretty funny

Brain Stew 02-06-05 10:42 PM

It's finally on at 11:42 EST!

I liked those two parts, but the rest was entirely forgettable. Like a slapped together version of "Dancin' Homer." The guest celebrities were especially poorly used.

Some of the best (and most) satire packed into one episode in a long time. Kudos, Tim Long & writing staff!

I disagree.

you should consider scrolling down and reading what dogmatica wrote. I thought it was entertaining.

Groucho 02-07-05 07:42 AM

The writer of this episode must be a fan of classic arcade games. "Homer Kong" was hilarious, and the Pac-Man marriage was good too.

I didn't put it in spoiler tags because the name by itself doesn't really mean anything. Only people that have seen the show would get it. Now that it has aired it should be OK. I knew if I didn't post it, or see it posted somewhere, I'd forget it almost immediately. And sure enough, I did. This morning I already forgot what it was and had to read my post again.

I thought this episode was hilarious. And the whole bit about Flanders re-enacting the violent parts of the Bible was a rather on-point satire of our society, IMHO (I agree with dogmatica). Instead of tackling the subject of sex and procreation, he opted for the violence.

--Moe's pool hustling was brilliant and pefectly in character.

Best line: "I'm the worst thing to happen to sports since Fox"

Geofferson 02-07-05 08:47 AM

Loved the Mario bit. Good episode.

Quatermass 02-07-05 09:19 AM

I thought it was a rambling mess. It seemed like they took leftover odds and ends from other shows and cobbled them together into this one. Probably one of the worst episodes I've ever seen and I've been a fan of the show since the beginning.

Giles 02-07-05 09:26 AM

I loved the Cain and Able (sp?) re-anactment, and the Mario bit. I forgot how lewd and bloody the episodes can sometimes get.

jasonp5 02-07-05 10:57 AM

I thought I was the only one. The only time I actually laughed was during the Mario, Donkey Kong segment. Other than that I just didn't think it was good.

movieking 02-07-05 11:27 AM

I'll throw it a  for needless display of blood and gore. Loved the Mario bit as well.

Zombie67 02-07-05 11:36 AM

Very funny episode! One of the best of the season.

The whole questioning by Ned's boys about Cain and Able making babies was classic.
Score a big one for Darwin!

Tandem 02-07-05 04:11 PM

"You can talk?"

POWERBOMB 02-08-05 02:05 AM

I thought it also was a lot of stuff just thrown together. The show for me didn't have or develope a rythm and I was really dissappointed.
