No airing of "Groundhog Day" today?

I checked the TV schedule, but can't find any airings of Groundhog Day today. At least Encore broadcast it last year. You'd think that this would be aired on somewhere today. Did I overlook any channels?

I haven't seen any listings, but I made sure to watch my copy last weekend in preparation for today.

That movie gets funnier with every viewing, if you ask me.

Entertainment Weekly even took time to mention how it was surprised there were no airings of Groundhog Day today. I guess you need to buy it, or rent it.

My TiVo tells me it's airing Friday at 7pm local (Central) and Saturday at 4:30pm local on WE, if you get that channel.

Whatever station it is that runs A CHRISTMAS STORY over and over should run GROUNDHOG DAY repeatedly on 2/2.

Thanks for the heads-up. The closest I got to watching the movie yesterday was when Harry Reid referenced it in the Democrat response to the State of the Union address.

One of these days I'm just going to have to buy the damn movie.

Figured I'd note, in anticipation of Groundhog Day - Roger Ebert officially added the movie to his "Great Movies" list.

Think it's officially the only one on his list to not get a 4 outta 4, but admits he underrated it in the initial review.

FX seems to be too busy running "Shallow Hal" 5 times a day for the past three weeks to put on "Groundhog Day."

I was gonna watch it last night but didn't have time, but I am putting it on later tonight. I haven't watched it since last Groundhog Day.

It's been on a hundred times since last Feb. 2. I've seen it so many times I can quote it. But it is odd not to be on TV the actual day it is depicting.

Not to quibble, but FX likes to run to death movies from their parent, the Fox Studios (a la Shallow Hal, Die Hard 2, Something About Mary, etc.).

I was prepared to bitch about another year without Groundhog Day airing on Groundhog Day after a tv.yahoo search turned up nothing, but zap2it lists a few airings on TBS:

Sat 2/2 12:40 AM
Sat 2/2 12:35 PM
Sun 2/3 7:15 AM

Still, they should show this over and over again a la A Christmas Story on Christmas Eve. It'd be great stunt programming.

Now that a new edition of the DVD is out, I might as well suck it up and buy it.

I own the DVD, might be worth the purchase if you intend to see the movie more than once.

Not to mention the irony in doing so.

Wheee! just noticed this thread, so I tuned in.

I've seen this movie at least 200 times, I still love it.

I bought the DVD for $2.99 two years ago on Black Friday, never opened it because I've seen it so much.

He gave The Silence of the Lambs, The Shawshank Redemption, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles all 3 1/2-star reviews and they're on the list.
