I know who finds out next week. I read it a few weeks ago on Kryptonsite.

Tonight's episode was just blah. Nothing too special.

Ranger 01-26-05 09:53 PM

An okay episode. I thought Alicia was pretty good in this episode, but the make-out/near-sex scenes between Clark and Alicia were pretty much just dragged on. I suppose the writers just want the young, female fans of Clark to sweat a bit or something.

I really hate the new Lionel Luthor change. I liked him when he was evil and obsessed. I guess it could be that the writers are trying to build up Lex as the bad guy and Clark's enemy.

Next week's episode looks pretty good.

Eplicon 01-26-05 10:08 PM

This episode was a bit better than what the previews were suggesting. It showed Clark's maturation with dealing with red Kryptonite after he comes to his senses. Considering he knows the dangers of being around it, I'm surprised there was still a bit left in school. His honesty toward Alicia and their relationship at the end plus facing the consequences of his Las Vegas stay was all right. I'm trying to remember if Clark had shed tears in other episodes. And it continues a minor theme of him trying to find "the one."

At least Lana maintains her wholesomeness when Jason doesn't want any. (I guess that public service announcement at the very end was inevitable considering some of the mature themes that were going on.)

As for next week's episode... I really don't think it's all that surprising if the show continues to follow key parts of the DC continuity. Clark will have one other confidant in Smallvile next to his parents, now that Pete's gone. But will it be too soon to (re)introduce that? On the other hand, Lois first met Clark when he was under the Kal-El identity and saw glimpses of that. The voice in the teaser might be a red herring. Lex had previously found out from season three, so I don't think it will be him.

I'm curious to see how this kindler, gentler Lionel plays out. It's either him playing mind games, or he really means it. Lex descent into evil is still on-going.

Oh yeah, Los Angeles gets to wait til tomorrow.

KTLA is fuckin' lame. They play the Clippers home game against the Lakers instead of the new Smallville. And the local Lakers affiliate that shows away games is also televising. Brilliant, just fucking brilliant.

B.A. 01-26-05 10:36 PM

The kind and gentle Lionel makes me yawn. They better not ruin the best character on the show.

It was better than I thought it would be considering the red kryptonite. First time I can remember someone getting out of the nuthouse and turning from bad to good.

Not much Chloe, Lana and Jason is a good thing.

Red Dog 01-26-05 10:57 PM

Red Kryptonite Clark proposing marriage right about when he is about to.....? :hscratch: Yeah, okay. rotfl

I won't complain about the marriage undergarments though. ;)

Not at all.

mookiemeister 01-26-05 11:35 PM

I'm glad Alicia survived the bullet. I thought the writers was going to kill her off because she knows Clark's secret. Glad they didn't do that.

Legolas 01-26-05 11:44 PM

Sarah Carter...

Kal-El 01-27-05 12:05 AM

I liked it. Solid episode. Alicia in thigh-highs, no schmaltzy ending with the Kents forgiving Clark for what he did, Alicia in thigh-highs, Clark not standing his ground and just letting Alicia walk away, Alicia in the thigh-highs, Jimmy Olsen apparently getting jiggy with Chloe, Alicia in thigh-highs...

Rogue588 01-27-05 12:11 AM

Why does everyone think Lionel is "kind and gentle"? It's gotta be an act. We still don't know who it was in the limo that picked him up..

JJE-187 01-27-05 12:42 AM

Was todya teen sex day or something? First we have this Smallville episode and then Katie Couric has that 411 special, which I might add was the creepiest thing since that HBO Middle School Confessions thing, I do not wanna hear about 13 year olds giving "Oral Sex" to "Friends With Benefits" I am glad I was in high school just before Clinton-Gate, I did what I wanted and all my family cared about was if I was in a gang (yes) or doing drugs (no)

ytrez 01-27-05 10:35 AM

Kind of heavy handed on the teen sex issue (and no one even had sex! Even Natalie on the Facts of Life went through with it on their sex episode!) but Alicia was HOT HOT HOT!!!! So no complaints from me.

I didn't like how ma kent was all over Clark's ass, "I thought we raised you better than this! We're so disappointed! I thought you were more responsible!" Zip it, ma, he was under the influence of Red K!!! Once he was relieved of the necklace he did the responsible thing. Give the kid some credit.

As for next week, I figure it has to be Chloe who finds out Clark's secret. No one else makes sense, storyline-wise as they are all tied up with other subplots. I'm almost sure it was Alicia's voice who said "Watch this" so I'm not so sure of why the betrayal (especially since she threw herself in front of a bullet to protect the secret this week) but this is Smallville after all.

After last night's ep I'd like to see Alicia stick around for a while. Maybe bringing in Lois was premature, 'cause the Clark/Alicia romance angle works for me.

Artman 01-27-05 11:35 AM

Surprisingly good message about Marriage at the end. Bravo!

Baron Of Hell 01-27-05 02:21 PM

I thought it was pretty good. The only thing I would have changed would be the use of the red rock to change clark to bad clark. I would have just made it an accident instead of something done on purpose.

Flay 01-27-05 02:27 PM

On a lighter note, Chloe looks like she has lost a little weight since that witch episode. You can tell in the face.

nice...

Patman 01-27-05 05:46 PM

Well, Chloe probably noted that her ass looked pretty fat in the cheerleader/Krypton-Aide episode, and started cutting out the carbs. :D

Tom Welling's tear at the end when getting the beatdown by Ma Kent was unintentionally funny to me.

same here. Plus, for me, Alicia's character is much more interesting, and not at all annoying like Lois. And, not to be an ass, but the chick who plays Lois is a pretty bad actress...even for this kind of show.

B.A. 01-27-05 06:27 PM

I just noticed that the girl who played Alicia was also on Sunday's ep of Boston Legal.

Patman 01-27-05 06:36 PM

She be the..., say it with me, the LESBIAN!!!

B.A. 01-27-05 06:37 PM

that was great - both times.

I agree Alicia's one of the best characters on Smallville (next to Lex/Lionel :)), but I believe she is only making two appearances this season - her second and probably last one will be next week.

Dmacsg1 01-27-05 11:13 PM

I just have to say that I thought tonight's episode was ONE BIG COCKTEASE!!! NOBODY GOT FRACKIN' LAID!!!! And then we find out that Chloe got it on with Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen!! Glad to see Lois back next week!!

Take care all!!!

SuprVgeta 01-28-05 03:47 AM

I guess I'm the only one that is with John Schneider in regards to all of the nudity / sexual innuendoes / etc... as a bad thing for Smallville. Sure Alicia looked great in what she was wearing (or not wearing) but I felt silly watching this on Smallville. It just seems really out of place.

As somebody stated earlier, I too was "disappointed" at how Martha talks to Clark at the end of the episode. I'm like he was on RED KRYPTONITE..... gosh, idiot! Clark was ripping it up in Metropolis on red kyrptonite earlier in the show's run and you didn't get all over his case then.
