Survivors Amber and Rob to try ''Amazing Race''
From www.ew.com
"''Survivor'''s Amber and Rob confirmed for ''Amazing Race 7.'' CBS plans to air the couple's wedding later this year, too. by Michael Slezak "
"The last time they teamed up on TV, only one took home a $1 million paycheck. This time around, however, reality TV love couple Amber Brkich and Rob Mariano are hoping to hit paydirt together.
Brkich and Mariano — the winner and runner-up respectively on last year's Survivor: All-Stars — are among the teams slated to compete on The Amazing Race 7, which will premiere March 1 on CBS. ''They're a very strong team, very competitive,'' Amazing Race executive producer Bertram van Munster told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
''Am-buh'' and ''Boston Rob,'' who fell for each other while systematically picking off a salty cast of Survivor veterans during the show's all-star run — and got engaged on live TV during the season finale — are apparently comfortable enough in front of the camera that they also plan to televise their nuptials later this year.
Survivor executive producer Mark Burnett told the Post-Gazette that he's ''working on'' the couple's wedding, and indicated that CBS will air the ceremony as a May sweeps special or possibly a summer series.

I'm normally against stunt casting on this show, but this should be really interesting. Will Rob be able to butter up the competition like he did on Survivor? Or will it just incite the competition to try harder, so they can say they kicked their ass.

Count me in as a Boston-Rob-and-Ambuh fan! This'll be awesome, IF they can not disolve into fighting and crankiness, like so many racers! I think they'll do well, as they're very competitive and I think the physical aspects of Survivor prepare you for this type of high-speed competition better than the scheming aspects of Big Brother (re: Allison and Donny). I hope it helps their relationship, not hurts it.

Well this is a shameless cross-promotion! I think this was predicted a while back too. I'll see if I can find it.
edit: here it is (monkyskunk predicted it) see post no. 88...

They're not a dysfunctional couple, so I think they'll be OK on the race. They might help to draw in some Survivor fans which might help boost TAR's ratings even more, which is a good thing for fans of the show.

Whatever, it's cool. No problem with cross-overs if the contestants are good!

I started out really not caring for Bah-stun Rob in his first Survivor appearance, but dammit he grew on me during All-Stars. He just calls a spade a spade and takes advantage of other people's vanitiess and scheming and uses it against them. I wouldn't want to bet against him.

It would be cool if the did an Amazing Race All-Stars with pairs of Big Brother and Survivor contestants:
Rob and Amber
Rupert and Wife
Burton and Fairplay
Jenna M and Ethan
Jerri and Colby
Jun and Jee
Marcellus and Amy
Cowboy and Drew (or Cowboy and Nakomis)
Sarge and Chris
Ami and her girlfriend
Richard Hatch and boyfriend
Rob and Amber
Rupert and Wife
Burton and Fairplay
Jenna M and Ethan
Jerri and Colby
Jun and Jee
Marcellus and Amy
Cowboy and Drew (or Cowboy and Nakomis)
Sarge and Chris
Ami and her girlfriend
Richard Hatch and boyfriend

Some of them are not really All-Stars, but they are some of the memorable ones for me

First Big Brother stunt casting, now Survivor stunt casting... hey, I know, why don't we do a Celebrity Amazing Race! Because we all know how well that turned out for The Mole.
Amber's cute and everything... but NO. I would rather see regular Joes and Janes racing around the world. Bawston Rawb and Amber are already "famous." They've each done their reality TV thing already. TWICE! Time to step aside and go count your money, people. Hopefully it boosts ratings enough to where they don't need to stunt cast anymore. And I hope they're forbidden from referring to Survivor while on TAR. Ugh. "Hey, Rob, this reminds me of the time on Survivor All-Stars when we..." UGH.
Does anyone remember if Donnie & Allison referred to Big Brother by name on their short run on TAR 5?

If Ambuh wears the same tops as Hayden, that'll be fine with me. And remember, they won't be as skinny as they were on Survivor if they make it deep into the competition.

Its quite sad I think! With the wedding and all, CBS is marking out to Boston Rob. Looks like CBS is having a hard time with their casting. And I thought this season was lackluster. Look like all I can look forward to is seeing them get eleminated early.
