Enterprise 1/21/2005
Episode Title: Observer Effect
Noncorporeal aliens study the Enterprise crew as they respond to a fatal viral infection brought on board from an away mission. |
Yeah, I'm waiting for next week too. This one sounds kinda dull.
|
Someone accidentally spoiled the big reveal in this episode, but suffice it to say, there's a direct tie-in to the Original Series in this episode. Non-corporeal beings is a clue, but there were so many on TOS that it doesn't narrow it down.

It's been a while since I saw the TOS episode with the
Spoiler:
edit: ah. erased Archer's memory so when that race is encountered again it'll be the first time starfleet has heard of them in other words, <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/mikehunt234/reset.jpg"> is back. |
Meh.

I don't understand why (most) people these days bag on Enterprise. I mean it's Star Trek, what else do you want? So goes Enterprise so goes Voyager, so goes Deep Space Nine, so goes Next Generation so goes TOS. It's all the same thing, and it's all good. Can't wait for the Enterprise DVD release. CFG! |
I liked this episode. The Organians were a cool idea to use. Much better than having it be some random alien that we've never heard of. And I don't think it was too bad of a reset since the Organians are extremely powerful so I makes sense that they can change people's memories.
|
This turned out a lot better than I expected. I wasn't expecting it to be the Organians either.
I just wish they'd stop those mid-episode spoiler-teasers! |
I enjoyed the episode - much more interesting than last weeks. It was a nice change of pace since neither Mayweather nor Hoshi had any lines in the last episode.
|
It was a good episode, but I wish that sometimes these people would face real consequences. If J. Michael Strazynski were writing this show (God, how effing great would that be?) Hoshi and/or Trip would have died.
|
If JMS was writing Enterprise, Trip would have survived, but he would have been taken over by the Organians and spent the next half season secretly working against Archer without knowing it. ;)

Just so-so for me, better than last week, but that's not saying much.
|
Just a regular guy who thinks it's just fine.
Notice I'm not calling it 'awesome', or 'best thing on tv'. We know what we are getting when it is Star Trek. People shouldn't expect something else. It's not B5, Lost, 24 or Alias. It's good ol' clean American Star Trek. CFG |

These guys probably reminisce about how awesome their dog crapped 20 years ago...and how today's dog's crap is, well, crap. It's sci-fi. It tells a story. For the most part it entertains me well. I really fail to see what it is they expect from Star Trek. I'm guessing they probably expect something more, like a reach around. |

  |
I take it this was one of the lower end budget episodes.
Next week looks good though. |

I'm with you  I've said it from the begining. I enjoy these. One of the top 10 shows on TV I bother watching. I am just watching the first season of B5, and this is as good or better than that. |
This one had a lot of "The Empath" in the story.
I guess I was so bored with this rehash, I completely missed the Organian reference. Can somebody clue me in where it applied? kvrdave, bite your tongue. ;) I expect a full apology to B5 once you finish it's third season. :D |

Because, I reckon, lens flares cost less than actors, make-up, and costumes. It's right up there with: "You are a savage, brutal, primitive race. Therefore we have to kill you." But then Captain Kirk shows some minor act of mercy against an aggressor only to be met with "We were wrong about you. You have shown mercy for your enemy. Would you like for us to kill him for you?" Even when I was nine that confused me. |
