Jack Bauer vs. Jack Bristow, bigger bad ass?

I know this has been a slight debate on this forum for some time, and was wondering who you thought was a bigger bad ass? I'd say Bristow just for (season 3 spoiler)
Spoiler:
Jack turns the tide and kills Simon right as it seems that his cover is blown

Tommy Ceez 01-18-05 03:37 PM

BTW...this was a poll before...I hadnt watched an episode of Alias and thought

"How can anyone be a bigger bad ass than Jack Bauer"

Im almost through S3 of Alias...

...Jack Bristow by a mile.

Michael Corvin 01-18-05 03:38 PM

Haven't watched Alias, but has Bristow ever taken a hacksaw to someones head? Polls closed. ;)

Bandoman 01-18-05 03:42 PM

This poll has been done before. I still say Jack Bristow is the most devious, cold-blooded killer on TV. Jack Bauer has the adrenaline "let's go get 'em" factor, but if I had to face one of them in mortal combat I would stay clear of Bristow. At least I'd have a chance of talking Bauer out of killing me.

Kal-El 01-18-05 03:47 PM

Bristow. I don't even think we've even begun to scratch the surface of his ruthlessness.

Believe me brother, I felt the same way.

Jack Bauer is deeply burdened by the decision to take a life, Jack Bristow decides to kill you within 5 minutes of meeting you, while having a light snack.

Human life means nothing to him

My answer then = My answer now

JACK BRISTOW BY A MILE

You know, a show about Jack Bristow set between 1970 and S1 of alias with a younger actor would be KILLER!

CaptainMarvel 01-18-05 03:52 PM

Bristow.

If the two were to tangle, Bauer would just disappear. No records, no body, etc.

Sessa17 01-18-05 03:52 PM

Bower isn't even in Bristow's league. Bower is a good guy, Bristow is a smart, calculating cold blooded bad-ass.

Tommy Ceez 01-18-05 03:55 PM

Thats the beauty of Jack Bauer...he's all heart, guts, and adrenalin

Jack Bristow...like a shark, cruises through the room, but when he sences a kill, he truly comes alive.

Jack Bristow would have recovered from heroin addiction even faster than Bauer.

 Sounds like I need to check him out.

But has Bristow ever:
- Played Russian Roulette?
- Pulled the trigger on his partner?
- Been electrocuted and died?
- Driven across LA and back in 10 minutes?

dick_grayson 01-18-05 04:29 PM

shouldn't the title of this thread be "bigger JACK ass"?

Either way, I don't know. I don't watch either show, but they both look totally gay. ;)

Rogue588 01-18-05 04:31 PM

:hscratch: didn't we already do this..?

rotfl That about sums it up except I don't think it would take Bristow five minutes - he'll have you sized up and dead in under one.

I AGREE WITH BANDOMAN

There IS no contest. The only people disagreeing are those who don't watch Alias. :hscratch: Bauer's like, "You're going to jail for a loooooong time," whereas Bristow's already disposed of the body.

He'll kill anybody, ANYBODY who threatens him, his family, or someone he needs. The guy is ruthless.

Best idea for a show I've heard in MONTHS.

SPOILERS!!!

He didn't give me that courtesy. :(

Has Bauer ever:
- Killed his ex-wife?
- Set up a co-worker patsy to get killed instead of his daughter?
- Been electrocuted and lived?
- Gone to Cuba, blinked morse code, gotten shot and back to the US on his own?

TheKing 01-18-05 06:15 PM

Jack Bristow is not a bad ass. A cold, calculating killer, yes, but he's not what I would consider a bad ass. Besides that, his attitude towards human life comes from the only woman he's ever truly loved turning out to be a russian spy hired to be his bride.

Jack Bauer might be tormented by some of the choices he has to make (like Chappelle), but he still does them. Heck, he volunteered to be blown up by a nuclear bomb! He goes into battle highly outnumbered, and still ends up on top.

If you need someone dead, maybe you go to Bristow, but if you're in grave danger, and you need someone to help you fight off a small army, while also trying to keep his wife/daughter/girlfriend/city of Los Angeles out of harms way, you go to Bauer.

Marshall has the smarts to bring both of them down.

You forgot interrogating a guy by killing him, bringing him back to life and threatening to kill him again.

Jack Bauer.. . . no he hasn't.

But in real life Kiefer Sutherland actual has.
