I must say, this show is fantastic. I rented the first season from Netflix about a month ago. I sent it back w/o even watching it b/c I wanted something else and didn't have the time for the show. I went on a weeklong vacation last week and had some time to watch some dvds. I had these again, and got through the first 3 dvds. WOW. Talk about a fantastic show.

The Wire? Never heard of it. Sounds stupid, though.

Well if you would have read one of the 2 threads that ever discussed this show you would know this.

It is sad that one of the best shows ever only got about 3 comments per show for it's 3 season stint, hopefully it will return for a 4th but I doubt it.

Sorry, but I like my police procedurals to have a crime committed, solved and criminal convicted all in the span of one hour. Nice and tidy, in a neat little package. With as little character development as humanly possible. The following week they start all over from scratch. Repeat the formula 22 times per season and garner monster ratings, and endless spin-offs.

The Wire ?! Bleh

The sad thing is, this is the longest Wire thread in DVDTalk history.

Detective: "Hey can I ask you a question? Where do you guys get those hats with the brim on the side? All the ones I see have it on the front."

Homeboy: "No it's the same. You just turn it around to the side."

Detective: "Oh OK. Thanks."

I saw the first few episodes of this show when it was on after the Soprano's. It was ok, but then it just became too boring.
