Jennifer Garner NOT hosting SNL on 1/15/05

Damn, I was looking forward to the show too. :(

She's been in the news recently because of nerve damage from her work on "Alias".

Her replacement:
Spoiler:
Topher Grace. I fart in his general direction.

That's too bad

Mr. Salty 01-12-05 12:02 AM

I'd like to see Topher Grace. He might actually be funny. As much as I like Jennifer Garner, the last tuime she hosted SNL she showed absolutley no talent for comedy. Sometimes she was downright painful to watch.

I don't mind that Grace is hosting at all. Comedy is his gig. Plus, I like seeing him do stuff aside from That 70's Show. Looking forward to checking out In Good Company this weekend.

Yeah she sucked, remember the Wal-mart bit. Ewww.

I saw Elektra today, it kinda sucked.

Topher's great. He made Tad Hamalton watchable.

Hostwise, I would go with Garner, cuz she's hot.

Moviewise, I would rather see In Good Company than Electra.

Brain Stew 01-12-05 07:13 AM

Topher Grace may actually make SNL funny.

I disagree. When she hosted two years ago, it was one of the funniest episodes of that season, and she was a very good host.

Topher Grace has great comic timing, it should be a step up from Jennifer Garner.

Wasn't Topher discovered in a high school play by a parent of another student that happened to be big in Hollywood? And what caught that persons eye was his comic timing?

vaporware 01-12-05 10:35 AM

Found it

He was cast in "That '70s Show" (1998) because the show's creators, Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, had seen him play Pseudolus in a high-school production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (their daughter attended the same high school as Grace). Apart from school plays, Grace had absolutely no acting experience before landing the role of Eric Forman.

The Killers are the musical guest, which should be reason enough to tune in.

Excellent, I look forward to both.

Nefarious 01-12-05 12:38 PM

My wife and I loved the Wal-Mart bit from Garner's last host job. We still laugh about it and make jokes.

candyrocket786 01-12-05 01:00 PM

I think Topher Grace will be great....but I can't say the same for the rest of the SNL cast.

tommyp007 01-12-05 01:01 PM

was Alec baldwin unavailable????????? :(

QuikSilver 01-12-05 02:17 PM

What a shame. I was really looking forward for this. Oh well.

It's true, there's someone out there for everyone. I'm glad you found eachother.

I'd think you were being critical of me but then I'm not the one who spent money to see Elektra.

mikehunt 01-12-05 04:51 PM

my SNL prediction is Tina making her stupid "#1 action state" joke about arnold since there's been so much happening there disaster wise this week

spartanstew 01-12-05 06:23 PM

I bet the male members of SNL are pretty disappointed.

It's pretty evident that she has sex with/dates every male she does a project with.

Ok...

1. I was just making a little jokey joke.

2. Who said I paid to see Elektra?
