Veronica Mars 1/11/05 - "Clash of the Tritons"

Another great episode tonight, as we learn some new things about Duncan and some more history of the school that could be important later on.

I was pretty surprised by the ending though.

Spoiler:
Looks like we have another mystery on our hands as Lynne Echols has apparently "killed" herself.

Lisa Rinna's mouth just isn't right.

The girl I was watching this with pointed this out. Her lips really are sort of frightening. Too much colligen mixed with bad lipstick, perhaps. Decent episode, but the whole guidence counselor thing seemed a little too much like a convienient way for Veronica to get information. I really didn't believe most of those characters would be that honest with her.

At least we know why that guy hates Veronica so much now.

Good episode. I am not so sure that Rinna did herself in though. I think that she is either alive, or kidnapped. She did gobble down a hand full of pills though.

I am not so sure about kids not opening up to the guidance counsellor. I know when I was in high school, a number of kids did open up to the counseller when one of their classmates died (unfortunately it happened a few times). It was an easy way to get info for Veronica as well though.

Great version of One Way Or Another

So, what is Duncan's mystery illness?

I love this series

Anyone else find the title of this episode funny considering Harry Hamlin's acting resume?

Wallace was funny, but what's funnier is how Veronica never really make you think she's really in dire straits, but just treats like getting stuffed in her trunk like water off a duck's back.

So I guess that the reason that she was stuffed in her trunk was because she asked too many questions about the Tritons, since they had nothing to do with it.

I think that Paula Marshall and Keith are going to end up together again, for a short time anyway.

Heh, I didn't even make that connection. Clever!

I wonder if the Platypus really did jump off the bridge.

Good episode.

I'm glad they finally revealed why Logan hates Veronica.

I loved the episode. Veronica singing, a mystery that caught me by surprise and a lot more back story. Great great episode.

Love the ode to "Clash Of The Titans", and a fun episode compared to last weeks borefest. Nice to see confirmation that Logan and Veronica were indeed friends and why he now despises her. Here's hoping "Lips" actually jumped off that bridge.

Another winner, but I'm getting anxious for a full-on return to the main murder mystery. Maybe a Kyle Secor / Jake Kane centric episode?

You know, there have been a couple of Homicide vets on the show, maybe they could land the ultimate casting coup and get Andre Braugher to be Wallace's dad or something .

Wallace ain't got a daddy that is around anymore, so I doubt that the character will ever be seen. I would love to see Braugher on any show though.

Am I going nuts or wasn't Wallace's dad a football player? Didn't Veronica joke about being pregnant in front of him, and he forbid Wallace from seeing her anymore?

I don't think so. Not positive though. I think that Wallace's father either abandoned the family or died, but I am not sure about that either.

She did joke about Wallace feeling her up when he his mother walked in.

I'm sure once sweeps rolls around there will be big important episodes. The whole Lily murder thing is supposed to be wrapped up this season somehow.

Thanks for the info - I must have two shows mixed up - now that you mention it, that line about the feeling up was the one from VM - now to try to remember what show the other situation was from. I think the girl was pregnant, too - so definitely not VM. Damn. Ring any bells you guys?

Is this show any good? I found them filming a scene a block from my house last night. Had never heard of it before then. The info on tvtome just doesn't give me enough info to decide it would be worth a dvd purchase when it comes out.

Yes, it is good...it's my favorite of all the new shows this season (including Lost and DH). You also just missed the pilot episode which re-aired last night, but no big. I think they're showing some more early episodes for the next couple of weeks. Give it a shot.
