Did Jon Stewart comment on the Tucker Carlson firing?

Tuned in late to the Daily Show. Did Jon Stewart comment on the Tucker Carlson firing?

Yes he did... right at the beginning of yesterday's episode.

I can't remember what he said. I was laughing too hard.

I don't think he mentioned Tucker directly, just that Crossfire was cancelled. He talked about getting a show canceled just by mentioning it and then said According to Jim was hurting America.

It's not much of a suprise to see Crossfire go. They have been "retooling" the show for a couple of years, plus the move from 7:30 to the wasteland of afternoon TV.

Also, Carlson actually quite the show back in April, but had to stick around for his contract. He's rumored to be getting his own primetime show on MSNBC.

I thought it would have been funny if he would have just quipped "Was it something I said?"

Goldberg74 01-07-05 10:47 PM

I went back and watched again, and he added that Tucker was going to MSNBC and the other three were staying at CNN.

"It's kind of like playing musical chairs... but having as many chairs as there are players."
