If you think the show has gone downhill, switch the channel ! all the OC fans i know have been loving the second season

First of all, Festivus > Chrismukah

Secondly, this episode seemed too forced to me. The writers are trying to hard. I am glad that there are some new characters in the mix though.

Good episode this week. This season has been on par with the first, IMO.

can anyone fill me in on what happened on the preview for the next episode? i always download the shows and watch that way, and they always cut the previews for the next episode.

Unfortunately, it was a hodge-podge of a lot of plot points for the remainder of the season.

Constructive Criticism
 

Would someone like to give me a constructive criticism why The O.C. belongs on the air and not in the trash can?

1. Seth cannot talk. Period. He's worse than my very good New York Jewish friend (who was very funny) but difficult to understand because he talked through his nose.

2. The parents are NOT role models. They are more adolescent than their children.

3. There is not one character in this program that is not a stereotype--a bad one at that!

4. There is not one character that one can truly care about. Depression rules, baby!

5. Is it prerequisite that the writers must have the actors speak "Hey" at least 50 times an episode? Is this the way Americans greet each other now?

6. And, speaking of writing: is this truly representative of the way Americans talk? Most of the time, I cannot figure out what the characters are talking about. Monosyllables. Metaphors from left field. Five-minute long scenes. Directionless little snipets of hell.

7. Let's talk about suspension of reality. No, forget about it. This program is in a non-reality all by itself.

8. Is "love" just a four-letter word now? Gratification the only purpose of life? Let's just see how far we can hurt people to make ourselves feel better?

Before you all jump all over me and tell me to flip the channel, I have the embarrassing oportunity to teach English using this program at my students request. There goes not a moment whereby I have to insist that this program is so far removed from the American standard as Pluto is from the sun.

So, I am truly interested in someone giving me a constructive criticism that supports that this program should remain on the air, that it has any redeeming value, that it promotes America to the world. So far, I haven't read an intelligent review from reknown critics that has one nice word to say about The O.C.

ADD posting.

1. Why post in this thread? Not the gay people for OC thread.

2. It is entertainment, nothing more. This is the same thing that has been happening in all the teen dramas (Dawson's, 90210, Melrose). It isn't realistic. It isn't meant to be. That's what reality TV is for (yeah right).
