This was easily one of the best episodes I've ever seen... hilarious... I watched it twice and couldn't stop cracking up at the "landscape photos of the WMD's".... so fucking good... now get over that wall you ****!

This is Henry Winkler's best work by far. Cracks me up.
Anyone care for a hot Ding Dong?

That she is a lesbian is irrelevant. It's not like I had a shot with her, either way.
:)

Big Boy Laroux 12-13-04 11:28 AM

the sarge was definitely jonesy.

Apparently, she's engaged to Ringo Starr's daughter.

DRG 12-13-04 12:23 PM

My favorite part was the conversation at the beginning between Michael & his son (all paraphrased)... "Anne got you a B?"

And after GM says something about her beauty... "Really? I think I've discovered the problem. You need glasses. To see the chalkboard..."

Then later on, after the balls scenario... "You don't need glasses." :)

One thing, I missed several episodes last season so forgive me is this was addressed, but isn't Tobias supposed to be a "never-nude", even when bathing? If so, how did he end up photographing his balls?

Tobias got over the never-nude thing last season. Of course, he picked it back up again at the end of this episode.

DRG 12-13-04 12:41 PM

Thanks. I missed about a third of the season one eps, guess I'll have to catch up on DVD.

Ted The Bug 12-13-04 01:32 PM

The Drill Sargeant was definitely Jones from Reno 911. I didn't recognize him either, but when I saw Cedric Yarbrough's name in the end credits, I was like "holy shit!" I rewound and sure enough, same guy.

From zap2it.com:

Late-ending NFL coverage, 10.6/16, and "Malcolm in the Middle," 9.6/15, gave FOX the lead at 7 p.m., although those numbers are likely to fall when final nationals are calculated. CBS was second with "60 Minutes," 8.9/14. "America's Funniest Home Videos" was third for ABC, beating "Dateline NBC," which finished with a 4.8/8. The WB trailed with "Steve Harvey's Big Time."

CBS moved into the lead at 8 p.m. with the first hour of the "Survivor" finale, 10.6/16. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" came in second for ABC with a 9.2/14. FOX averaged 5.2/8 with "The Simpsons" (6.3/10) and "Arrested Development" (4.2/6).
Pretty sad that Malcolm gets more than twice the ratings of AD when football overrun caused Malcolm to not even be played in my timezone. -ohbfrank-

It's him. I'm 100% positive.

I believe that rating IS for the football overrun. Actually, it's the combined average of that timeslot, so it's the west coast ratings for Malcolm (where football wasn't a factor) combined with whatever was aired in that slot for the east coast (supposed to be Malcolm, but turned out to be football). But yeah, it's still pretty sad.

 We are right. It was definitely him. My wife and I are big Reno fans and we both laughed out loud when he appeared.

Big Boy Laroux 12-13-04 04:08 PM

*might* be right? geez, it's obvious. did the mustache fool you?

I gotta get Final Countdown for my phone now. Sheesh.

Great episode, but not as good as last week.

Birrman54 12-13-04 11:15 PM

did everyone catch the marijuana "smoked it like a cigarette" line from George Sr? Clearly a throwback to Season 1's George Michael's line.

I hope this show gets some better ratings soon so it doesn't get canceled

my favorite part is the little jokes in the background

I laugh when I see blue paint still left on tobias' neck, and all the blue handprints all over the house

Jackskeleton 12-13-04 11:45 PM

It got two golden globe nods. It wont get canned.

It's Fox. It's not a reality show. It could very easily get cancelled.

Rogue588 12-14-04 02:46 AM

Wayne Brady's show was cancelled and won an Emmy.

Wayne Brady, bitches!

The Final Countdown ringtone that my cellphone carrier has is horrible! Good grief -ohbfrank-

mkdevo 12-14-04 07:43 AM

anyone wanna help out a ringtone newbie finding The Final Countdown for an AT&T Motorola MPX200?? i'm having no luck..

Adam Tyner 12-14-04 07:47 AM

There are several to choose from at 3GUpload.

djbrown 12-14-04 08:12 AM

paraphrased, but damn funny:

Lindsay: "I wonder how many people Tobias has slept with"
Michael: "It's not a contest, Lindsay"
Lindsay: "Sure it is, that's why it's called scoring"
Michael: "In the 70s, maybe"
Lindsay: "That many? It's only been like three weeks"

Is there such thing as a "good" version of that song? In this case, I think the more horrible, the better.

Yeah I'm actually a bit disappointed because the one I got is polyphonic. I wanted a really crappy-sounding one. Ah well.

Big Boy Laroux 12-14-04 10:54 AM

djbrown, i didn't catch that line the first time. great joke.

Jadzia 12-14-04 06:50 PM

Has anyone ever noticed that this show always starts late (The Simpsons bleeds into it by several minutes) yet it always ends early. I don't think the show is any shorter than normal but I wonder if it means they have less commercials. It would make sense that Fox is selling more ad space during the higher rated Simpsons.

It sucks because I Tivo both shows, bbut I like to watch Arrested Development first. After I watch AD I can't delete it off the Tivo until I watch the Simpsons, so I can see the tail end. And lately, the Simpsons is kind of a chore to watch.

cliffzig 12-14-04 08:56 PM

Just changed my ringtone. I am such a dork.

wow- I'm happy it wasn't just me noticing that. I wondered if my ReplayTV's clock was off, but I guess it's just Fox's scheduling. They're lucky I like AD- I stopped watching everything on NBC when they started screwing with start and stop times..

I think it's because there's football on before the simpsons which has been running late.....nothing more.

That certainly messes with Malcolm, but in many cases I miss the opening credits of Simpsons because they start it before my TiVo begins recording at the top of the hour. Simpsons is easily running 32-33 total minutes at this point (maybe a minute before and up to two after).

Groucho 12-15-04 09:10 AM

I record Malcolm, The Simpsons, and AR...and there's a lot of overlap between the shows even though in my time zone football never interferes. Like Jadzia, I typically watch AR first which means I have to FF through the end of The Simpsons.

Khalid 12-15-04 10:14 AM

Tobias, at the gym, looking from the television to his crotch and back to the television:

"I'm... on tv."

Ted The Bug 12-15-04 02:33 PM

"Are those for Lindsay? Because she's over her fear of eating in front of me now"

"Well now these are going to come up and much as go down"

The following scene, excised from Sad Sack, would have made 24 fans happy. When the photo of the alleged WMDs made the rounds of government, there was to have been a quick shot of Tony Almeda and Jack Bauer with the narration, “They even made it to some units that didn’t need to be in the know.” I’d guess this was cut because it seems a bit forced, because otherwise a 24 cross-promotion seems like a no-brainer to FOX, which broadcasts both 24 and Arrested, and Imagine, which produces both.
