I'll be skipping this one. I can't stand Farrell and I've never even heard of the musical guest.

That band looks like Stevie Nicks and Marc Bolan had a drunken one-night stand.

Colin singing as Bono into the camera was pretty funny.

The lowerback tatto commercial should already been retired long time ago. It was funny the first time, now not so much.

Man, SNL isn't funny. And I disagree with you guys about Scissor Sisters, they are super cool. In fact, that was the only reason why I was watching.

And yes, the lead singer (among other members of the band) is gay.

Merv the Perv was the only funny sketch.

I loved the last time it was on a show.

OH MY GOD! The host said a swear word on TV. Better hold a meeting of congress and pray for our souls. The press will be all over this one by morning.

Wow, the context of how he said it... "For giving me one of the best weeks I've ever had, I shit you not!" Something tells me he must not have had that good of a time or he just realizes how much the show blows, because he ain't ever coming back on.

This season of SNL is just bizarre. You know this is going to be all over the news tomorrow, just like Simpson's screw-up a couple months ago. Maybe it is just the fact the show is live, but something also makes one wonder if someone isn't orchestrating these things for ratings.

It's hard to screw up Merv the Perv, but I wouldn't be surpised if this group does at some point.

I thought Farrell did a good job. The Bono bit was executed poorly though since he didn't know the words to the song and it became even more obvious he was reading from cue cards when he got up next to the camera.

I'm not saying it's a big deal. I just think it's funny/weird when someone swears on TV and there are no bleeps. I don't have HBO afterall .

And I wasn't commenting on your post, my friend. I was in the middle of typing my reaction at the same time you posted.

This was probably the best episode of the season. Farrell was great in his skits, if a little too focused on the cue cards. for the Spartacus Meter!

Rumsefeld Town Hall Meeting
Rumsfeld answers questions from GIs regarding armor and stop/loss, and gives the normal governmental tough shit responses. Why are these openers usually the lamest of the entire show?

Monologue
Farrell makes a quick crack about Alexander and gives pointers to some of the male cast members about scoring with women. Funny stuff. “Get your own personal fragrance, mine is cigarette breath and whiskey.” Lindsay Lohan appears for no reason.

Lower Back Tattoo Removal
Commercial parody about older women regretting the back tattoos they got in their 20s.

Roach
Farrell brings Poehler to his apartment, but a big roach (Sanz) is waiting. Farrell chases the roach around, trying to kill it. Sanz was pretty good (no lines, of course) as the thrashing roach. Funny bit with Farrell attacking the roach with his shoe, splashing bug innards all over himself. Not as good as Armisen as a parrot in the Liam Neeson episode, but still pretty funny.

Show Biz Grande Explosion!
Hosted by Fericito! Ay, dios mio! I so enjoy this character. Farrell is on as Bono, who gets chided by Fericito for “Uno, dos, tres, catorce.”

Airport security
Amy Poehler is the airport security guard doing an inappropriate search of Farrell. Not much here, but Poehler made it funny.

Weekend Update
Expected jokes about Michael Jackson and Jason Giambi. Brett Hull of the NHL Phoenix Coyotes made an appearance, as if anyone knows who the hell he is, and had a good gag about the correlation of the canceling of the hockey season and the Canadian vote to allow gay marriage. Lindsay Lohan again makes a meaningless appearance and brings the segment to a halt with a painfully unfunny conversation with “mentors” Fey & Poehler. Farrell comes on to talk about Alexander and make some rather obvious homosexual puns. Nice delivery though.

Key Party
I don’t know why, but I thought this was hilarious. Five couples in a wife-swapping party each recite their names and “safe” words several times. Almost ruined by Sanz as Farrell’s wife.

Window Washer
Farrell is a reporter on a window washer scaffold sixty stories up to interview the window washer with 30 years on the job. Of course, the expected dangers come up, including a flock of crows. Short and okay.

Pat & Patti’s Slack, Snack, and Knick-Knack Shack
Sanz & Rudolph as Pat & Patti, and Farrell do a lot of tongue twisters in this commercial parody. Cute, and very well done by all involved. I think we saw this during the Olsen Skeletwins episode too.

Merv the Perv
Company Christmas party with Merv and his overseas cousin, Steve the Skeeve. Lots of good sexual puns here, with Merv getting rebuffed each time, but his sexy cousin getting a good response from the ladies. “Merv, why don’t you go jump out a window?” “Or why don’t I go jump on a widow?” Why was this last? Maybe because some of the puns were a little too risqué?
