Survivor: Vanuatu 11/18/04

Two Survivors become "sacrificial lambs" and are tied up by their tribe.

A surreal Reward drives one Survivor to overindulge and pay for it later.

After a tumultuous night in which one castaway struggles to keep the camp together, it is decided that the most useless tribemate should go.

One Survivor is torn between joining a new alliance or thwarting an existing one. A tribemate exploits this indecision to work a plan.

Before Tribal Council, one Survivor makes a last-ditch effort to sway a tribemate. Will it work?

Please let a woman go home tonight.

Please let it be the horrible, horrible Ami.

I noticed that there is a new episode scheduled for next week - Thanksgiving night. Surprising to me, although could it be the recap episode they always have?

Probably.

Well if it really is the most useless tribemate that goes tonight,it's pretty easy to figure out who that is.

The pig that they were given last week? Although the pig can provide one meal for the tribe, so that might make him not as useless as the obvious person.

Damn. I hope next week is the recap.

I missed Etan being kicked off of all-stars because those idiots at CBS decided to air Survivor on a Wednesday that was also St. Patrick's Day. Only episode I've ever missed of the show.

The pig is not nearly as useless as Scout.

I hope Ami and Scout are the ones to go.

dolphinboy 11-18-04 04:59 PM

I can see how viewers might want the women to break up to create some excitement, but I can't see any sense in why Scout would do this.

Even if she doesn't like a few of the girls or feels that she's lower on the pecking order, she has to know the men would only be too happy to get her to help split the women up and then boot her off.

I would think with mostly physical challenges coming up for immunity that Scout has no chance to make the final 3 anyway, but she'd have a better chance against women than she would against the men.

And, please, please don't send Amy home. Ever.

If Scout, Twila, and Eliza join up with the men, they move from 4, 5, 6 on the pecking order to 1, 2, 3. They would still outnumber the men and they would move past Julie, Ami, and Leann.

Interesting explanation from Chris on why he voted for Sarge. Doesn't his explanation of Sarge wanting him to vote for him negate any feelings that he was trying to build with the women, since it seems like he just did what he was told?

movieking 11-18-04 07:16 PM

Anyone else notice they just blurred out one of the chicks butt crack during the first challenge? I think that it was Julie.

SunMonkey 11-18-04 07:17 PM

Best. Challenge. Ever.

xx2000xx 11-18-04 07:21 PM

I'm just glad it wasn't Twila and Scout as the rag dolls in that challenge.

Ami was having the best time with all that ass grabbing.

"That's when they open the back door"

I am actually surprised that
Spoiler:
CHAD
is gone.

SunMonkey 11-18-04 08:09 PM

I'm not too surprised it was Chad. It was consistant with the fact that all CBS Survivor previews lie.

For instance, next week:
Spoiler:
I don't believe for a minute Scout is going home.

Timber 11-18-04 08:14 PM

God Damn DirecTV lost my locals about 30 minutes in and since I was TiVoing it I wasn't watching at the time.

TwineTime 11-18-04 08:24 PM

I don't see how the CBS previews lied. All of those things happened. You all think Scout is worthless (and even though I don't I'm not going to try and argue that because I have a feeling you'll never think otherwise) but at least she was trying to break the monotony everyone seems to complain about.

If Ami and Leann predictably end up controlling the endgame, it'll actually be Julie's fault since she could have agreed to an Eliza vote which would have solidified the new alliance. Julie's hot though. So I guess she gets an out?

Yeah, same here.

Are there any updates yet on the problem?

Timber 11-18-04 08:38 PM

It's back on as of 9:38. Don't know what the problem was though.

taa455 11-18-04 08:40 PM

Twila, make a decision ON YOUR OWN. She is always "oh...I don't know what they want me to do." Come on. Doesn't Twila know she will be the first to go once it gets down to Ami, Julie, Leann and Eliza??? Wake up girl.

I'm not sure but I think I saw Chris with a hand on one of Eliza's mellons during that reward challenge. :eyebrow:

TwineTime 11-18-04 08:50 PM

I didn't mind Twila's decision so much because she wanted a majority before she made a decision. If she had voted for Eliza with Scout, it would have been tied and then the purple rock would have decided the boot. Sure, Twila was safe because of immunity, but say the purple rock ends up in the hands of one of her new alliance mates. Twila is now screwed as far as Ami, Leann, Eliza and Julie are concerned.

I don't blame her for waiting on her decision.

Ok, fine. It's just easier to say "lie" instead of "deliberately leading the audience to think the opposite of what will actually happen on a weekly basis." ;)

But as she waits to make her decision, another potential ally is gone. It may have been a tie, but now she is outnumbered. Only thing she can do now is hope to pull Eliza over and vote out Ami.
