Joey 11/4/04
How much longer until they pull the plug?
I will say that it was pretty accurate about what typically happens when you date a girl who's on the rebound. Of course not the part about the ex coming to kick your ass. |
Why would they pull the plug? The ratings are fine - not Friends size, but certainly much better than a lot of the crap that was on Thursday nights in the past (Single Guy anyone?)
|
I watch it and want to like it. I don't know that I remember a show that has given me so many cringe-inducing one-liners.
BTW how can the son michael not remember being in little league 10 years before??? |
And the slide continues.
I'm almost wishing to find anything to do on Thursday so I can stop this. I will try to catch the conclusion next week. Best line " Don't give me the Billy Joel face." |
Yup ...that interaction with the neighbor girl was the most "joey-like" all episode.
|
I've wanted to like the show. But, every week i just wonder why i keep watching. And i don't know any other "borderline" shows that i've given 6 episodes to.
Unfortunately, after 6 shows, i think i'm done. It's just too annoying of a show for me to keep watching. I'm not even interested in watching the conclusion to this week's episode. I'll probably keep recording it every week, just in case someone tells me about a great episode, but for now, it's off my "watch list". Oh well. |
I like this show a lot. Very funny. Kelly Preston still looks good at her age!
|
Stupid Tivo or sat feed. I got all kinds of pixelation and no audio.
|
This show is right on the edge: I want to like it, yet I don't. Can't quite explain it.
The Billy Joel line was  though. |
I like Alex. She needs to be in the show more than she is.
I agree with wanting to like it, but not quite getting there. It is on the cusp of likeability for me. |

"Was that the girl I saw rolling down the hill this morning?"

I like the character of Gina a lot more than Michael. I find it hard to believe that a young guy is unable to remember playing in little league. It's not like he was 4 years old at the time. Hilarious when they were watching the video of Gina partying, smoking, and drinking, and the camera pulls back to show her at least 8 months pregnant.

I thought this ep was pretty good. People have already mentioned my two favorite lines.
"That's the pigeon that stole my sandwich!" "Was that the girl I saw rolling down the hill this morning?" Good stuff. I'm still watching. X |
I'm still watching too. Not sure why though.
|
I really like the show.
And The Single Guy ruled! :grunt: |

It'a an ok enough show to have on as background while making dinner or cleaning guns or something.
I still think it will turn out to be one of those shows that several years from now you will look back on and can't believe you ever used to actually sit and watch. |
I think at this point the show is being carried by love of "joey" from friends.

Also, little Michael batted right-handed, while older Michael batted left-handed.

Originally posted by Patman Also, little Michael batted right-handed, while older Michael batted left-handed. My problem with this show so far is that I don't really care about any of the characters. Of course the exception is Joey, since he's carrying over from Friends... but the rest of the characters I could give a hooey about. I think maybe they need more sets and other places to go, instead of always being in Joey's apt or on the patio. I don't know that that would necessarily help but it couldn't hurt. |
