Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments starts tonight 10/26

Bravo begins airing its five part series
The 100 Scariest Movie Moments (silly sounding title IMO) tonight at 9:00
the interviewees include
Dario Argento
John Carpenter
Peter Jackson
Stephen King
Wes Craven etc...
the people who made this thing said that there were some non traditional (non horror)moments picked for their fright factor. It will be interesting to see their choices and to watch the clips.
Good Halloween fun to boot, with some kickass filmmakers sharing their thoughts on the history of horror cinema.

I wonder how many of these moments they are going to actually show, considering many could have too much gore for basic cable.

Well, it's latish Bravo. They could get away with a little bit of gore.

I'm sure it'll just be interviews over the actual footage, kinda like "I Love The 80's".

"I Love The Gory, Scary, and/or Eerie Bits"?

i have heard that they do indeed cut out the gore shots (similar to how I love..." blurs out the gore.)

Damn! They showed the famous 'eye scene' in Zombi! Ok, not the entire thing but I'm suprised they showed what they did. Pretty good show, I didn't realize it's a four part series, so if you missed it Tuesday you can still catch the rest throughout the week (and I'm sure it'll be replayed multiple times).

plenty of times to watch including the halloween day marathon showing

its not bad It seems to be more films than specific moments overall
but the choices have been decent
Black Christmas, Zombi, Blue Velvet, Night of the Hunter etc.. but
Pacific Heights? Talk about a random pick
I wish the heavyweights got to say a little more, and people like the Coors Light Twins had been left uninterviewed.

I really enjoyed watching this, it exposed me to some movies I've never seen that I would like to see and also brought back great memories of some of my favorites.

I remember seeing Black Christmas for the first time almost 20 years ago at a High School halloween celebration, it terrified me! The attic opening that the killer comes down through the house was exactly the same as one I had IN MY ROOM!!! Everytime I heard a racoon or other fuzzy critter running around on the roof I was convinced is was a psycho killer just waiting until I fell asleep to come and get me.

What is up with Clive Barker? Did he have throat cancer or something? I don't remember him talking like that before. Of course, I haven't seen an actual interview with him in several years.

I liked it for the same reasons, but kind of wish I didn't watch it. There were lots of spoilers, like ruining the ending to the original version of The Vanishing (I still want to see that one, though). I just couldn't look away.

Yeah, I wondered that, too.

What about Dr. Phibes? That was a pretty scary scene when he revealed his face. That should have been on the countdown.

I had never heard of Audition until I saw this show. Looks pretty freaky and, from the description of the end, I don't know if I want to see it. I was squirming when they were just talking about it.

This did expose me to a bunch of movies, though. One of which (Wait Until Dark) was on TCM yesterday, which I caught.

Among those that I plan on watching:
The Wicker Man
The Vanishing (original)
Last House on the Left
The Hills Have Eyes
Suspiria
Don't Look Now

I think I watched another count down a few years ago where #3 was #1. I think that that is probably the scariest movie I have ever seen, although there are several on the countdown I haven't seen. Several of them were in my netflix cue before I saw the countdown, I guess I'll be adding some more...

Pretty good list. The only problem I had was I felt 'Scream' should have been ranked much higher on the list. I can't believe the put it ahead of 'Halloween' or 'Nightmare on Elm Street'.

I really think that they did a good job overall on the list. Count me in as thinking that #3 should be #1

Liked the list, but #1 is so overrated and should not be there.

I thought the rest of the list was pretty good though.
