Frankenstein-the USA Network movie
 

I have decided to give this a try tonight, and while it's too early to call, this really seems to be a misfire. Then again, I guess I have no reason to expect otherwise from a USA original.

That said, I am shocked that Parker Posey would lower herself to something of this level. She must have some pretty nasty bills to pay.

Never heard of this - but I do want to see the Sci-Fi original "Frankenfish"... knowing that Parker is in this makes me somewhat interested.

This movie blew! A total crapfest...

Had pretty much nothing to do with Frankenstein and the ending....is this supposed to be a two part series or something??

I couldn't think of one good thing about this movie...left me with a terrible aftertaste...bleck!

I've seen this recently being hyped along with the more faithful Hallmark adaptation which aired a few nights ago. If this does well it's been reported that it will rollover into a series of sorts. I haven't caught it completely, but from what I've seen thus far, I'd agree with the previous misfire comments. Sad as they actually had some halfway decent talent involved for a USA Network production. Michael Madsen, Vincent Perez and Parker Posey all starring. Author Dean Koontz apparently created an original 1 hour script which Directer Marcus Nispel (Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake) rewrote/extended into a 2 hour one. Daniel Pearl was the DP (Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre & Remake).

This never should have been made, it was like a theatre movie that they had to cram into and cut and leave a lot behind to get on TV. They could have made it a lot better as a theatrical release, without the Frankenstein title...just completely make it independent

It was too damn dark. The lighting and make-up(two things i rarely pay attention to) was all kinds of ugly. I always thought Posey was pretty attractive, but i wanted a scene where she washes her face and brushes her damn hair. Other than that, the story was not THAT bad. It could have used a bit more plot and some humor.

Matt Roush on the TV Guide channel said this could be a series of episodes or more movies if it is successful.

The impression I got straight from the beginning was that they've seen SEVEN too many times. Apparently everyone works at night and they never have time to bathe. You also have your cramped filthy apartments where the only light streams in from the background giving a misty look to every scene or you have flashlights panning around the crazy items that have been collected.

Like the monster it felt cobbled together from things I've seen way too often before. It never felt compelling, even while chasing the killer around the abandoned factory which should be dramatic, I kept waiting for the end. Too much style over substance with so much of it being taken way too seriously. I like Parker Posey, though seeing her run around with a shotgun is a bit hard to believe and Adam Goldberg provided a small bit of much needed levity to the whole thing but I thought it was drawn out and monotonous.
