I still want to know how Charlie ends up on the beach, he was up front doing drugs and comes out of the bathroom and goes to the first empty seat which to me looks like a seat for one of the stewards.

I think the lack of coolness this season may stem from JJ Abrams lack of involvement due to his directing MI: 3. But hopefully they are actually paying attention to the ratings; you just can't keep your audience treating them the way they are doing so now. Maybe it will get better next season.
