Did NBC give Miss Match a fair shake?

This is the 2003 show with Alicia Silverstone.

It could have been a ratings hit if NBC decided to move it from the Friday lineup.

They messed up when they canceled the show.

Just wasn't producing the numbers they wanted and really had no where else to put it. the rest of the nights already have some sort of order to them and friday night is death for just about any show at that time frame.

Eh. it happens.

The problem was that the show didn't have "Law" or "Order" in its title.

The few episodes that I watched I enjoyed... its just that Friday's TV schedule is not a priority for me... it was a really hard show to place anywhere.

It sure wasn't the first Friday show to get the wrongful axe.

Meh. You couldn't get me to watch that show no matter what day of the week it was on. Then again, I'm not a woman.

The main problem with that show was the Friday timeslot. No one is ever home on Friday night, and I actually wanted to check the show out but only saw it once because of that. Friday spells the doom for any show. I actually had to tape Ed every week when NBC moved it to Friday as well, before it was eventually canceled.

I watched 3 episodes of the show and found it to be rather lightweight and frustratingly innocuous. Plus the acting seemed a bit stiff. Wasn't the worst thing on TV, but I just don't see it drawing many viewers on any night of the week.

It wasn't a reality tv show.

I liked it. Didn't love it, but liked it well enough to keep watching it.

Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Boy Meets World, L&O SVU, Homicide: Life on the Street. Those shows were on Fridays for long runs and did fairly well.

I thought that it was a decent show, but it was given up on too early. I think that Alicia could definitely star in her own show and be successful at it...

More like "did (network X) give (program y) a fair shake?

More and more, it seems like the answer is no. Unless it is a reality program, many new programs aren't making it past the first half of a season.
