Did Colbert just drop the S Bomb on The Daily Show?
I just did a major double take. If Comedy Central and The Daily Show are going to start upping the ante on language, then I'm all for it.
Yes, he did. It's not really taboo like it used to be. If I remember correctly, Comedy Central made a big deal out of South Park using it a couple of years ago, and I think it was on an episode of ER, too.
It's only a matter of time before they follow this very forum's rules and allow the F-bomb.
Yes ... cha ching that will be $250,000 (just guessing).
I have that Bush spot PVR'd and will be making an mpeg for personal archive. It was very funny. |
Stewart dropped the F-bomb a few months ago and they forgot to bleep it out. There's a thread about it somewhere. Now, if you'll excuse me I need to get back to "milking" my goats.

You've gotta be fucking shitting me! Before you know it, every asshole will be fucking swearing on television. My virgin ears can't take it! Crap boobs crap. Hell damn fart.

different rules for basic cable
Different rules for cable in general, although the FCC would like to change that.

The s-bomb has been heard quite frequently on TBS (namely on Sex in the City).
I welcome the day when threads aren't started for every dirty word said on network and cable television. ;)
You can't say 'shit' on television!
Unless I'm mistaken, the FCC's content regulations don't apply to cable at all, meaning that Comedy Central could have a naked midget shrieking "MOTHERF**ERS" at top volume for five minutes and they couldn't be fined. But the cable networks as a general rule stick to the content regulations anyway for fear of upsetting viewers and/or advertisers.
I know the FCC has no power over cable, still, I've been watching the Daily Show for years and never have they gone worse than bitch and not get bleeped. I just wondering if this trend was becoming more and more popular, which I'm hoping is.

Actually as far as nudity goes there are different rules, but language is basically up to the networks. I remember many years ago when you got an adult movie before a certain time of day there wasn't the regular sound only weird elevator music. Anyone remember that? |
Well I just heard the F-bomb on Rescue Me, so... thread closed.
They bleeped it on the repeat tonight
