It will be very hard to replace Sharona, but it can be done.

There has been growth in Sharona and the Captain since the 1st show. I was looking forward to more changes over the rest of the season.

**Does anyone know if that is Bitty Schram (Sharona) at the end of the movie "Ella Enchanted" push the Uncle in the wheelchair?**

Uh oh. A widow? Maybe they're going for a love interest for Monk?

I'll still watch the show, for now at least, but this doesn't sound good...

Why not just bring in a wisecracking robot, and rename it Monk and C.H.E.E.S.E.?

I want Sharona to get killed somehow by someone (maybe Dale The Whale). During this sad time for Monk, he makes a realization about Trudy's murder, and is able to solve it, but now he is stuck on solving Sharona's murder (ie transferrance)

I know that it would never happen, but I would find it interesting.

I'm guessing Jay Thomas is sitting beside his phone, rubbing his hands together.

Maybe they should get Randy Newman. Let him finish the job.

Guess my first post was confusing - I was in a hurry.

I meant to say that I disliked the nurse of the week, and don't want her back in any way. I also dislike the idea of the world weary bartender, and hope they don't go that route either.

And I agree she's much funnier on reno 911.

Oh, and I don't mind the shrink scenes in moderation. But I do dislike the poor/rich/poor (and always annoying) neighbor. He was funny for about thirty seconds - once.

When exactly are those 30 seconds coming around?

That actor was funny on Action!-- but definitely not on Monk.

Well this sucks. I've only seen 2 episodes (before the marathon yesterday) and Sharona is my favorite part of the show. I'll admit that she gives me the hot. No Sharona = no watch for me.

He was good in an episode of Seinfeld, as well. He was the Kramerica Industries intern.

I just started watching this show recently... watched those marathons on USA. Just when I become a fan to a show, they pull something like this. Shame on them!

Re: Sharona leaving Monk

My apologies for resurrecting this old thread.

I started binge watching this show and I'm currently in the middle of S4 but I really like the character of Natalie better than Sharona. Natalie seems to stand up to Monk better without whining or being mean about it.

Re: Sharona leaving Monk

Despite my post 15 years ago I ended up liking Natalie more than Sharona. In fact the Sharona one's aren't as enjoyable to watch when they come on.

Traylor Howard is definitely better eye candy than Bitty Schram.

Huge fan of the show, perhaps my favorite hour long show ever, and admit to being upset at the change at first. Thought it a huge mistake, but came around to preferring the Natalie episodes overall.

She looked at lot younger than she was on Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place. K think she was supposed to be in her early twenties on the show when she was into her thirties in real life. Has she done much since Monk? I don't recall seeing her in anything in a long time.

There is a good reason for that:

Re: Sharona leaving Monk

You just gave a link to her IMDB which gives no information as to why she hasn't been in anything for a while. Thanks?

Re: Sharona leaving Monk

In 2011 she married her third husband, and soon after had her second child. She was in her mid-40s and never had a great career as an actress. Her current husband is a very wealthy and successful businessman. So I guessing she just stopped acting because she could.

Maybe she will come back to acting if Norm MacDonald ever makes Dirty Work 2: Even Dirtier

I started watching Monk in its original run after Natalie had already arrived. When I could, I would also watch reruns of prior seasons that had Sharona. I remember at the time reading a lot of complaints from viewers who were upset about Sharona leaving and they were critical of Natalie as a replacement. It's understandable, since Schram was part of the original cast and it's often disappointing when an actor leaves a show you love. I much preferred Traylor Howard.

I'm holding out for a Boston Common revival!

Re: Sharona leaving Monk

Not to be petty, but anyone know what Bitty Schram did after Monk? I just checked IMDB but other than an appearance in 2016 (Moments of clarity) I see nothing. Stage work perhaps? Now I'm sounding like a creepy stalker or something but not trying to be.
